In today at W&L. 162/3.59. I wrote a good optional essay though-- I think that's what did it.

Did anyone's application include scholarship information? If not, does anyone know when we shall be hearing from them about $$$$. Congrats all!

This is the million dollar question (And the reason why I keep checking this thread compulsively). The website says mid-January, so I am sort of hoping that at least the first round of offers will be this week.texaspecial88 wrote:Did anyone's application include scholarship information? Re: Washington and Lee
I know this is kind of a big request but would anyone who has been accepted read my personal statement and tell me if perhaps if I did something wrong? I really want to get in (W&L first choice) and any advice would be appreciated, I'm starting to get a bit worried with all these dings and waitlists rolling my way.

Scott Brown wins in Massachusetts and I get an acceptance from W&L. To quote Ice Cube, "Today was a Good Day." To all those on the waitlist, best of luck to you. Don't give up hope. The dream never dies as long as you have the will to fight for it and I'm sure you'll get into other great schools anyway!

I agree, nztch. But here's the thing, all these schools are expensive. Tulane is 40 grand but is ranked lower. There are very few places where a legal education can be considered affordable in any sense of the word.

Re: Washington and Lee
I'm in the opposite position so far in my cycle. W&L was a suprisingly quick acceptance. My "local" or regional schools haven't responded yet. In all actuality, this might be a good thing - my regional schools are located in the T40's and one is in the 60's. I've got some leverage ot argue for more money from them now...heh.
The thing is, like you, I'm probably going to attend W&L anyway. I'm smart enough to consider negotiating, but probably not smart enough to actually see it through.

Might be a dumb question. Does "notification pending" mean they are mailing it at this time or does "pending" mean they will hold on to the letter?
Those in today's batch, mind sharing stats? PM ok (will do same).

Re: Washington and Lee
I think it varies. I know people who had DR 1/8 and the letter was postmarked that day. Others, like me had DR1/8 but the letter wasnt even dated till 1/13 and I received the letter more than a week laterSAE wrote:+1 here.klussy wrote:decision reached today. quick turnaround. will post my anticipated WL result on fri. or sat. when the snail mail arrives
