Does anyone know how hard it is to get in-state tuition after the first year?

complete 2/4 and in review since 2/5.
How long does the "in review" take to become "decision" or whatever?

I wrote about how the law field does not have nearly enough white Jewish men. That surely got their attention.chicoalto0649 wrote:same stats as u hommie but im urm......went complete 1/5- ur 1/26 and 1/29 and got waitlisted on feb 11th. I have this sneaking suspicion that my app fell behind someone's desk. I expected a big fat rejection by now. Oh well, I like the looks of Iowa right now.

In with 16k/yr!
I am very excited about Minnesota. Illinois or Wash U. will have to offer considerably better money to get me, and Northwestern is the only school left that can have me simply by admitting me.

Re: Minnesota 2010!
Question for successful applicants: is it necessary to write a "Why Minnesota" essay? My reasons for wanting to go aren't interesting. Minnesota is a good school with a friendly student body and excellent faculty lalala. I think these are all legitimate reasons for selecting a law school, but I think it would make for a bland essay.

Re: Minnesota 2010!
I did not write one but I had pretty good numbers for Minnesota. If I were going to write one, I would do some research on the school. I don't think that it's enough to say "excellent faculty". You should be specific. You should discuss specific programs at the school, what appeals to you Minneapolis, which faculty you are excited to work with and maybe how you would like to work in the midwest.

I wrote about the strong clinical offerings. They liked it enough to admit me with $20k, though I didn't think my essay was particularly great.

Waitlisted today. I thought I was out for sure...
Seems that they are actually as holistic as they say, which is awesome for a law school

From what I have heard, they are trying to raise their GPA median also. Regardless a 171 should be auto admit, I don't know if the practice YP, but it may be some since you could probably go to higher ranked program. Looking at LSN, it does not look like they do.mrm2083 wrote:Just got waitlisted, WTF Minnesota! Stats are 3.4/171

I think they are indeed engaging in YP. I was waitlisted a couple days ago and will be withdrawing soon.charlesjd wrote:From what I have heard, they are trying to raise their GPA median also.
