I, um.
Holy...
Uh...
Please let me in NU.
Is it too late to switch to ED? Seriously.

In the end, although they may not allow you to switch to ED, I would by all means encourage you to reach out to them with a LOCI and a request to switch to ED ... if for nothing else, it will demonstrate your committment.beef wellington wrote:Is it too late to switch to ED? Seriously.
I did this. Straight to the admissions office, typically via snail mail.luckyjd wrote:This may be a silly question, but how do you send a LOCI? To the admissions office or via LSAC update? Thanks. (NU is my very very very very very very first choice, too... sigh.)

Did they deny your request or have you even heard back from them yet?NancyBotwin wrote:I did this. I just sent it yesterday and haven't heard anything. I emailed it, so hopefully they don't ignore it. I was complete 11/3 so I'm due for a decision this week, and I didn't want to wait for it to get mailed only to not get there in time.beef wellington wrote:Did they deny your request or have you even heard back from them yet?NancyBotwin wrote:I did this. They will probably have to eat your acceptance letter, and your entire application, for sustenance if the lockdown goes on for too long. Bummer.MirandaHobbes wrote:if they're on lockdown this means they have more time to send out my acceptance letter, yes?rogerw wrote:Do you guys still want to go?

This kind of stuff can happen anywhere. There was a shooting at the Walmart I used to shop at (while I still lived near it and still shopped there), in an otherwise really safe neighborhood.rogerw wrote:Do you guys still want to go?

Don't fret; I'm sure you are memorable enough that they will still update your status checker to let you know you're in.MirandaHobbes wrote:Jericwithers wrote:They will probably have to eat your acceptance letter, and your entire application, for sustenance if the lockdown goes on for too long. The Law School building is currently closed due to an emergency situation. We are all safe and will update when we reopen.

Northwestern is still in a safer part of the city than schools like UChi, NYU, and possibly even Columbia. Even so, it's a reality of city life, but your odds of actually being one of those people held at gunpoint are extremely slim.rogerw wrote:Yes, but urban areas have more of this kind of thing going on. There was a string of armed robberies not too far from Northwestern in the fall - people were held up at gun point. I'm not saying this crosses Northwestern off my list, but it's definitely something I am thinking about. Northwestern also does not have security guards at the door (maybe they will change that now).
