Just got admittance call! How quickly do they send out scholly info?

Congrats! Are you OOS? If so, did you submit a Why Texas?

Took mine about 9 business days. Seems to be similar for most, about 1-2 weeks.

Yea they asked for a Why Texas 2 days ago, I sent it in yesterday and I was admitted this morning! Quick process haha

I have a problem , my residency was flagged and I've had the following update on my status checker for a week + after having provided the requested information.

"In order for the Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) Residency to be able to determine your official state residency status, you must complete the Residency Core Questions if you have not already done so."

I called the admissions office and they told me it only usually takes a couple days after submitting the info but that they didn't control it or have access to it, and that I should just hang tight. Does anyone else have experience with this?

Submitted application late September. Submitted a strong Why Texas in mid November. 25th<LSAT<50th and 50th<GPA<75th and OOS. It's been radio silence. Does anyone know what might be going on? I would have thought I'd at least hear from Texas by now, even if it were a waitlist or a rejection.

Has UT made it through the mid-late January apps yet? Don't see much movement from that bunch on LSN. The silence is killing me.

Quick question for admitted people who have received merit based financial aid or were told that you were not awarded any:

How were you notified of your scholarship or lack thereof? Did you get an email that explicitly told you the amount or that you were not awarded any merit based amount? Was it separate from any FAFSA based money/notification or is it all in one email?

Not sure if my Why essay was the thing that got me in, but it didn't keep me out. I mentioned one of their journals, an article in that journal I particularly liked, and why the journal+article related to what I wanted to do post grad. Was about one page (would have been two but stretched the margins to the limit). Be specific to the school and to yourself, basically.

I also went complete in early January--was asked to submit a Why Texas essay on 2-20 and sent it on 2-23. No word yet

Got one email notification to check CASH, showed up as all loans.

I have not received status checker credentials from UT still after 13 days. Is that an issue?

Hmm I received mine two days after they said my application was received. Maybe try giving them a call? Or maybe others also experienced a similar timeline and all is fine. I know Michigan took several weeks to get me theirs but on their site they said two days...

If anyone was concerned about scholly negotiations, you have until 3/31 if you've already submitted a form and received a counter to accept, or it's gone. For those that apply after 3/27 you have five business days to accept after receiving a counter. So, no rush. (I was worried as well, still worried, but less so)

By the way, they aren't reviewing scholarship recons until next week because some faculty sit on that committee and they're on spring break.

Random question, but did anyone else notice how crappy the facilities are for the law school?

There was one hall that was recently constructed and very modern but aside from that and the library, I found the law school to be very underwhelming. Everything looked like ti was built in the 70s and hasn't been updated since. Not a huge reason to go/not go, but it did stand out to me.
