I don't know how many of y'all have seen this: https://www.utsystem.edu/sites/utsfiles ... ctices.pdf
It was recommended that the admissions office start doing interviews - I guess they took that recommendation this year.

Also, scholly info literally came in minutes after I posted that last comment. Nowhere near what I was expecting (not in a good way). PM for details. Looks like I'll be withdrawing. Hope that opens a spot for someone off the WL.

They're low-balling everyone, but I understand if you don't want to go through their reconsideration process. Definitely a weird tactic for a school that's tightening up its class size, trying to break T14, and currently in the middle of a massive fundraising effort for scholarship money.redsxfan2010 wrote:Also, scholly info literally came in minutes after I posted that last comment. Yeah especially because my LSAT carried the day for me and it seemed they were really trying to up that number this cycle. Oh well.BirdLawExpert wrote:They're low-balling everyone, but I understand if you don't want to go through their reconsideration process. Hey guys, I wanted to reiterate my apology from yesterday. If any of you get to meet me someday, I know you will find that I am not a vindictive or negative person and really do love seeing all of the success people have on TLS every day. I am under tremendous pressure, as I'm sure all of you can understand, but that is in no way an excuse for how I acted. I personally apologized to janderson, and I'm ready to put yesterday behind me.
Have a great day y'all!

When were you accepted? Deciding whether or not to call as it has been over 4 weeks since I was admitted.icantwait wrote:Just received my Texas scholarship, very happy with it! Good luck all!

Bruh, you know we love you. You just vocalized what all of us have thought at one point or another when reading these fora. Glad you're feeling more yourself today.Navyhornguy wrote:Hey guys, I wanted to reiterate my apology from yesterday. I've been mostly lurking, but I've seen how supportive and cordial you've been this cycle. This process kind of sucks, and it's getting to everyone. I, for one, cried in my office on Friday when my first choice dinged me (on my birthday). So I got the call last Tuesday and just received my acceptance packet in the mail today, but there's no mention anywhere of forthcoming information on scholarship money (or lack thereof). Should I wait on an email as well, or does this indicate I won't be getting any $$$?

JUST GOT THE CALL. GPA and LSAT both a ~median. URM. Technically OOS (I think?) but grew up in Texas and that's where my permanent address is, though I do now have a CA driver's license. Applied beginning of Jan.
Edit: put my stats.

Just got horrendously lowballed (to the point that I dont think negotiation could even hope to bring things into a considerable range). I'm going to email them about giving me some reconsideration but will likely be withdrawing within the next few days.

Got my scholarship offer yesterday. It was low, but it was expected. I am going to renegotiate. From what I have heard and asked you have to try to renegotiate to receive the scholarship offer you want.

You should wait. You will be notified even if you receive no scholarship.tizzy2728 wrote:So I got the call last Tuesday and just received my acceptance packet in the mail today, but there's no mention anywhere of forthcoming information on scholarship money (or lack thereof). Oh wow. Has anyone taken a look at the scholarship reconsideration form? After they make the offer, you only have 5 days to accept it, and then it's binding.
I'm the biggest Texas fanboy in the world, but that leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

They're basically saying "We'll reconsider, but we're not getting in a bidding war. Get your best and final offers from other schools before you come to us."

How long did it take you guys to get scholarship emails? I was accepted last week, got the email from the Dean today. Did you have to wait long?

I apologize if it's already been answered, but when is the first deposit due? I can't find the e-mail where it gives the date.

$200 is due by April 15. It was provided with the acceptance letter sent via mailLoney M. Setnick wrote:I apologize if it's already been answered, but when is the first deposit due? I can't find the e-mail where it gives the date.
