So, you should be hearing back sometime before midnight EST tonight. I haven't heard of them being late with any of the PT decisions so far.packer_22 wrote:The 8th

Anybody know about how long Duke takes to review RD applications? I went under review on 12/8, and that's still the last date change in the status checker.

From a little bit ago, but in via PT, GPA >25, LSAT 75. Super excited, the more I read up the more I love it!

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Does anyone know what to expect from the scholarship interview? From the description it seems it will be a discussion of financial aid.
"The scholarship application process includes the opportunity to participate in a Skype interview with a member of the committee, if you choose to do so. We hope you will take advantage of the interview because we expect it will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the financial implications of attending law school and to learn how we might be able to help."
Thoughts on what they mean when they say they want to learn how they can help? Should we expect to discuss hard numbers?
Also, any thoughts on if your "success" in the interview will impact your aid amount?
Basically it seems to me that either this is an informative interview for the applicant or an actual interview with financial impact on the applicant. Knowing which to expect would be helpful.

Hello. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for RD (non pt) applicants to go from UR to a decision based on previous cycles? I went ur 12/8 and a Duke acceptance for Christmas would be nice.

These are good questions. I guess we'll find out on the first week of January, but my guess is it's more an opportunity for them to share their financial aid options in addition to scholarships. Seems like 15 minutes is too short to talk about detailed numbers and situation for each applicant.kfb2112 wrote:Does anyone know what to expect from the scholarship interview? if we didn't get an email about the scholarship interview does that mean we're just not being considered? I'm sort of confused tbh

The interview is optional - did you check the box for the interview on the scholarship form?

the form I sent in didn't have a box to check for the interview - this was in September, back when admits were all provisional and the interview was required for official admission. all the form asked for was for you to check whether you wanted to be considered for merit and need aid or just merit aid. haven't had any contact from them since.fra wrote:The interview is optional - did you check the box for the interview on the scholarship form?

I presume this is a different case if we are considered for a Mordecai though, right? Then I'd imagine it would be a more formal interview, but does anyone know more about that?pylon wrote:These are good questions. In a similar boat. Accepted in September, and no contact about the interview.xylocarp wrote:the form I sent in didn't have a box to check for the interview - this was in September, back when admits were all provisional and the interview was required for official admission. all the form asked for was for you to check whether you wanted to be considered for merit and need aid or just merit aid. haven't had any contact from them since.fra wrote:The interview is optional - did you check the box for the interview on the scholarship form?

I've had "file under review" as my status since 11/13, and I'm non-PT, though my numbers are fairly competitive. Anyone have an idea when non-PTers will start to hear back? Have any so far?

In via PT yesterday! Applied exactly ten days earlier, but I was surprised since they told me in an earlier email I wouldn't know until mid-January due to the holidays. Guess that's a good sign, eh? At or above both 75ths

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
I got in via PT on 12/20, but I have yet to receive the scholarship application form from the Financial Aid Office. How long after receiving their admissions email did everyone else receive their scholarship application form? If it is the case that I should have received my scholarship application form already, should I reach out to the financial aid office, or is it most likely the case that any delay is the result of it being the Holiday season?
Unrelated question: is it expected that applicants respond to acceptance letters or scholarship offers sent via email? Thus far I have not, but, e.g., I received a rather large scholarship offer from WashU, and I feel like I might be supposed to respond with a thanks or something...
Appreciate the help!
Bump.

Any delay in receiving the scholarship application form is likely due to their offices being closed for the holiday or slow during the holidays. I wouldn't worry about it yet, maybe shoot an email to the financial aid office if you haven't received it by the end of next week.hill1334 wrote:I got in via PT on 12/20, but I have yet to receive the scholarship application form from the Financial Aid Office. a bunch of us didn't get the scholarship form for more than a month after getting accepted. It really hasn't been much time at all for you so I would wait a couple of weeks.thatsnotmyname wrote:Any delay in receiving the scholarship application form is likely due to their offices being closed for the holiday or slow during the holidays. Does Duke give PT invite at this moment? Has anyone successfully solicited one?

I'm wondering the same. Got fee waiver with my 168 in September, but I'm hoping for a PT invite with my December 176. Especially since I'll be in the area later this month, and I'd like to visit knowing I have an offer on the table... Would it be presumptuous to send an email saying this? I'm coming from California to NC for work, so I wouldn't likely have another chance to visit.Veronica2015 wrote:Does Duke give PT invite at this moment? Has anyone successfully solicited one?
