Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
UT Law is my dream school and first choice. I applied over Christmas break because I was able to raise my GPA (since I got a 4.0 in the Fall Semester and since my LSAT is slightly lower than their normal 167 standard). I am so anxious from waiting. I have a recurring dream that I get a phone call and can't hear what they are saying or that I get a letter but for some reason I cannot read the decision. Is anyone as anxious as me?

Good luck, celv! Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but since you're in UG I'd consider a year off in which you get some work experience and retake the LSAT. If you can pull that LSAT up you can expect serious scholarship $$$.celvreal wrote:UT Law is my dream school and first choice. Thanks for the advice! If I don't get in this cycle, I'm seriously considering applying the next cycle. When do you think would be the best time to retake the LSAT? June so I can submit early or September/October so I have more time to study?ongtexas wrote:Good luck, celv! Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
I've already taken it twice. I took it June last year right after a semester of taking 18 hours (and still got Dean's List) then I retook in October but in the summer I was interning/writing a federal grant/taking summer courses and then in the Fall I was working/taking a full load/traveling for research presentations so I feel that maybe I didn't have enough time to devote to it. If I do decide to retake and reapply, I'll most likely retake in September/October then. Thanks!lawschool1741 wrote:Depends. How many takes do you have left? If you have two takes left and are PTing in solid numbers, might as well take June so you can retake in Oct if necessary. If not PTing where you want, you can always use the same rationale for Oct - Feb.

I would definitely retake and work on time management. While you may have had a lot going on, you will during 1L as well and will need to be able to effectively balance time to get stuff done appropriately and to a certain standard. The LSAT is both learning the skills to do well, but also other skills that may be useful in law school and time management is probably one of the biggest ones.celvreal wrote:I've already taken it twice. Word. I say take the year off, get some good work experience, take your time w/ test prep and knock it out of the park. At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, one year "off" w/ a good LSAT could make the difference between debt slavery and the career of your dreams.Attax wrote:I would definitely retake and work on time management. Ahh, sorry. My bad.
I still haven't received any scholarship info. Starting to figure I won't be getting an offer.

For those of you OOS acceptances, how quickly did you receive the decision after you submitted your Why Texas? Looking back through the thread, it looks like it was within a week or so.

ITFR and other admitted students, are you able to find any financial aid info on the FreshLaw login page? Are you even able to log on, for that matter?

Re: University of Texas C/O 18 Applicants
So I got my WL email about 2 hours ago and yet just got confirmation that they received my Why Texas? statement and it's been added to my file. Should I just assume that the decision was made with my Why Texas? on file or does this sound like another administrative error?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
