You don't need to worry at all. They are very nice. It's more like a friendly chat.hearsay77 wrote:phone interview tomorrow! any tips?

Agreed. As long as you can answer Why law/WUSTL it's pretty simple. She spent more time trying to sell the school to me than she did asking me questions.fairhope71 wrote:You don't need to worry at all. They are very nice. Do people go alone to ASW or is it normal to bring a spouse/friend/parent?

Bringing a parent is seen as kind of uncool. I brought my spouse though, and it was very cool. I don't know about bringing a friend; it could go either way.valen wrote:Do people go alone to ASW or is it normal to bring a spouse/friend/parent?

Yea I judged hard. Even worse if the kid mentioned that their parent was/is a lawyer.sublime wrote:Parent is kinda weird. Cut the cord.

SO or something isn't weird, but if you do bring them/someone try to make sure you branch out and meet people. Some of the people I met at ASW are still really good friends of mine, and I somewhat randomly came from the east coast and slept on a TLSers couch for the weekend and now that person is one of my best friends here, and I'm sure that would be different if we didn't become friends over ASW.

Would you recommend WUSTL for someone who is interested in working in CA?
Thanks!

CA biglaw? It happens, but it's tough. It would have to be a unique circumstance for WUSTL to be your best option, but that's not to say it can't be. We have tons of people here from the West Coast, many of which are trying to go back after school. You would need strong grades for sure. It's tough, but doable.calmike wrote:Would you recommend WUSTL for someone who is interested in working in CA?

If you look on the big WASHU thread, which I think is listed in the OP, there are a couple regular posters there who went here, and got biglaw in CA. You may want to ask your question there, or PM one of them.

I just got the email about the shirt and signing up for them to connect you with a faculty member/student/alumni, so if you were admitted recently (like on Friday), I would check your email!

I agree that it'd be a unique circumstance. West Coast placement is an area we really struggle in, and while the school is trying to improve it, I wouldn't personally choose to come here in most circumstances for that. If you're getting into WUSTL with $$$, then USC/UCLA are probably options as well and I'm not sure I'd come here over there even though I love my school so much. To be honest, I'm surprised how many people in my class are from CA (second biggest state represented, only a few less than MO) and hopefully we can get them all back there in decent positions.LET'S GET IT wrote:CA biglaw? Also if you're not from Cali, I would definitely not recommend it. Also iirc at least one of the people LGI mentioned was IP, so I think that's a factor that changes things.
