Re: Georgetown c/o 2018 Applicants
In at Georgetown by letter dated 12/1. Status checker is still stuck on application complete so they might be really behind--just a heads up in case anybody is holding their breath on them.
Went complete 11/20, no interview and didn't submit any optional items to speak of, just the generic diversity statement and education delayed combo statement that I used everywhere.
AA male, non trad. age, 75th percentile GPA, 25th percentile LSAT, solid WE and a few light softs, feel free to PM if any questions.

Accepted with ED! LSAT at 25% and GPA above 75%, no interview, status checker didn't change, but got the mail from Dean!
Hello Georgetown! PM me if you would like to know more.

Congratulations, I know you must have of heard this before but you should really consider retaking and sitting out this cycle. You have an AWESOME GPA.xtgg5020 wrote:Accepted with ED! LSAT at 25% and GPA above 75%, no interview, status checker didn't change, but got the mail from Dean!
Hello Georgetown! PM me if you would like to know more.
Since you said over 75th, im assuming 3.9+, with that GPA you could basically make hundreds of thousands of dollars this year but sitting out, scoring a 170+ and getting a full ride or something something close to it at an even better school. With a 172, ALL the T14s are in play.
Youve earned such a great GPA and scored over a 160 so obviously your very smart and with some work you CAN score a 170+, even scoring a high 160 will get you accepted to better schools and with some scholarship money.
I know you want to start law school in the fall and dont want to deal with this stupid test again, but you can literally makes 300k if you score 170+ and or with a 168 you could also get NU ED 150k. Not to mention the increased employment prospects coming out of higher ranked schools.

canadianbro, I know that you mean well, but have you read the sticky at the top "Read before posting in this forum?" I think this isn't the appropriate forum to be saying that kind of stuff in when people aren't asking for advice, they're just sharing their outcomes.

Had my alumni interview a couple hours ago - it was a phone interview. For anyone interested I was asked Why Law/Georgetown plus a decent amount of follow up questions based on my answers and then we chatted about a few items on my resume. It was fairly simple and only took around 30 minutes.

Anyone else having trouble with their status checker? Suddenly I'm getting a "username/password not valid" message, and when I click on "forgot my password" it doesn't recognize my username.

Yeah, I checked, still having the problem. I'll e-mail someone about it. Thanks though.

Do we have a decision on what "Completed" means? Mine changed.Tr3 wrote:Actually, I also thought it previously said "Complete" only but now it says "Application Completed" which sounds a bit more final. eek
(but I may just be making things up and/or hallucinating)

For those who have already been admitted (CONGRATS!!!), did you submit an optional statement?
I've been debating between sending in the otherwise ready application ASAP or waiting for that rush of inspired writing for this frustrating 250 essay.

I got accepted without writing one and I have very borderline stats.abc27 wrote:For those who have already been admitted (CONGRATS!!!), did you submit an optional statement?

I think that you should write it only if you're certain you can write it well. It's likely they use it to evaluate your writing skills and it might hurt you if your personal statement is superb but your optional essay is not.

Got my application held. ~,~
Was sort of expecting it given how long it took them to get me an interview offer. I applied super early in the cycle.
I went out and did an alumni interview on the coldest day ever :\
Didn't do an optional essay for anyone wondering. Poor choice apparently lol
