Re: Illinois 2011 applicants!
Waitlisted.
I have decided to remain optimistic so I am going to try to arrange a trip to visit the campus and sit down with someone from admissions(its just kinda hard coming from Florida). I really would love to attend and UIUC is one of the schools I think would be a perfect fit for my wife and I. Just another hurdle to overcome..

Good luck everyone -- it is an amazing school! Does anyone know if they offer travel stipends?

Surprisingly waitlisted. Illinois isn't high on my list but I still have a sour taste in my mouth. Oh yeah, for anyone who has been waitlisted by any school, are the letters usually really sugar coated like "you have a great application but" or is that a good sign I may get off the list.

I was put on like 12 waitlists, all of them were sugarcoated.ClosetStateSchooler wrote:Surprisingly waitlisted. Illinois isn't high on my list but I still have a sour taste in my mouth. Just got the schedule for next Friday, I'm getting excited! Is anyone actually staying for the night out at 7:00? I doubt I will, that would make for a lonnnnng day!

Re: Illinois 2011 applicants!
I am but only because I will be staying until Saturday to pick out an apartment since I know I will be attending. If I was driving back that night I would probably fall asleep at the wheel if I stayed for it!pinkzebra wrote:Just got the schedule for next Friday, I'm getting excited! Re: Illinois 2011 applicants!
What's the problem? If they accepted me I would have turned it down anyways. When I was sending out apps I sent like 30 and at least 5 of them I knew I wasn't going to go. Got trigger-happy, with 25 per spot competing and the fact that my stats were a bit below their medians its no surprise I got rejected it was hardly Pless.

Just accepted via email this past Friday and hoping to attend admit day this Friday. Haven't gotten any information yet, so hope to hear from somebody about that soon!

No problem--It's just good that he rejected you because you're not going to hurt the school's yield by being accepted and not attending. It's in the best interest of the school to figure out whether or not someone will attend.

Re: Illinois 2011 applicants!
It was a joke, don't be another TLS prick. I hadn't seen that thread again until now so I never really realized everyone took it so personally. Things are often interpreted 1000 ways when it's on the internet. Either way I didn't mean it in the way it came accross.Kilpatrick wrote:Also:blurbz wrote:kkklick wrote:What's the problem?
