In off the waitlist!! Really excited about this! Before making the final commitment, I want to see what kind of financial aid they offered me. On the admitted students site, it says you need a student ID before checking but I never received one

Your student ID should be in the Admitted Students website, on the top of the page under the Financial Aid link.AbuAmir wrote:In off the waitlist!! Really excited about this! Congrats, btw! Hopefully I'll see you in the fall.

are there any 2Ls/3Ls who received need-based grants their 1st year? did you guys get a similar amount renewed the next year? i know the financial aid office told us on admitted students day that we would maybe even get more, but there seems to be some people saying this is just marketing and not the case?

Sorry it took me so long to reply, I've been out of town for the last week now.Mike088 wrote:congrats abuamir! when were you waitlisted and did you send in a LOCI?
I was waitlisted back in March (I forgot the actual day) and was pretty bummed about it. Davis was my top choice at the time. I was already in at U of A and Hastings with $ so it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. I was pretty certain at the time I was going to end up at U of A or ASU so I just filled out the waitlist form and that was it. I didn't send a LOCI, call or update my transcript. It was really surprising when my sister called me and said I got a package from Davis!

I was really hyped about Davis but it looks like they're not offering me any scholarships. I'm out of state so being 60K+ in debt after my first year is definitely not something I want to do. I'm not too optimistic about the employment opportunities in Cali either so I think I'm going to withdraw. I'm trying to negotiate right now but it looks like they're not gonna budge too much. Oh well, I hope one of you guys can get the spot!

I've done a little research on this too and all the 2L/3Ls said that you'll very likely be fine. I know what thread it is that has you worried, and don't worry about it. That guy is just trying to stir the pot.nonamebreakdown wrote:Yes and yes.hellohello wrote:are there any 2Ls/3Ls who received need-based grants their 1st year? did you guys get a similar amount renewed the next year? i know the financial aid office told us on admitted students day that we would maybe even get more, but there seems to be some people saying this is just marketing and not the case?

I may have mentioned this earlier. but one of the professors I spoke to at ASD said that some people were admitted from the waitlist as late as 2-3 weeks before the start of the semester.

Jeez that is ridiculously late. I'm thinking of sending in a second LOCI just because it's been 3 months of absolutely nothingness and it's making me antsy. Bad idea?

People get admitted through intro week if admitted students get off other waitlists and leave. At least 2 slots opened during last Fall's.

If i am to send a second LOCI should it be via email or just through the online form again?

Accepted off WL. It's a bit late though. I'd love to go, but I can't justify the costs. Good luck guys.

I would send it via email to make sure it gets some personalized attention. I've heard you can send it to the person who signs your waitlist letter. What did you focus on in your first LOCI?Mike088 wrote:If i am to send a second LOCI should it be via email or just through the online form again?

Hey everyone. Good to see people getting in off the WL!
Quick question: To everyone sending degree-posted transcripts, where did you send them to?? My online transcript request thing doesn't have King Hall listed as a recipient and I can't find an address on the King Hall website or in the admitted students website OR packet.

I just emailed my second one. In the first one i just spoke about UCD being my number 1 . This time i just updated them on what's been going on the last 3 months and slipped in some more about UCD being my number 1 lol.
Congrats to those who are getting in off the waitlist, and if you're not gonna accept it then thank you even more LOL that just gives me a little more hope!

Yeah, I had to call to get a confirmation. When on the phone, she said she got a whole pile of transcripts a few days ago, so yours may be among that.80884 wrote: I sent mine like a few weeks ago, but haven't received any receipt confirmation. Should I call them?
