Re: Cardozo 2011
I just got into the Cardozo's May program via phone call a few minutes ago.
PS- they had called me in for an interview yesterday since I was waitlisted. The interview went well. She seemed to have re-read my entire application and focused her question on everything in the application. If you do get called for an interview, please be prepared to talk about any weaknesses in your application and highlight the strengths.
I hope you all hear good news soon to.

I was recently admitted from the "hold" list with 15K, and was able to (successfully) negotiate for a bit more [but still not enough, given the cost of tuition and cost of living]. The odds say that my spot will remain open . . .
Good luck to everyone who remains in waiting!

Funny story from back in mid-February... I got home to my apartment and looked in my mailbox to see a thick "Cardozo" envelope... I got really excited... but... they had sent me a viewbook, which I never requested. I got a good laugh out of it, but how would you feel if you saw that in your mailbox?

I'd probably [definitely] feel pretty crappy. I think I'd put it in the trash, then feel bad and put it in the recycling, then eat some Ben & Jerry's . . . and go get it out of the recycling and look through it.

FINALLY heard back
Went complete 2/11, had a phone interview on 4/16, and was accepted today, with a guaranteed 3 year full tuition scholarship, via email. They seriously took forever...but well worth it

Jokerman, were you waitlisted for the May program? I haven't heard a thing yet, and was not waitlisted. I'm want in, but feel like it's so close to the start of classes that it's probably a ding.

thanks, I don't mind posting them on here!
lsat: 163
gpa: 3.85
also URM (which I think played a large role in the scholarship, although I do think the phone interview made a huge difference in how much they offered me as well)

Re: Cardozo 2011
Hi, this may be a stupid question, but did everyone on the wait list receive from Cardozo an email entitled "An Important Update From Cardozo" on April 28? It says some seats are expected to become available soon and they will consider my application. It is a good sign in my imagination.

Does anyone else on the wait list for may part time program feel they are living that scene from the movie Titanic? The part where the musical ensemble continues to play as the ship sinks? That pretty much sums up my feelings on getting an offer at this point.

Off topic, but did anyone see the South Park last night where they ripped on Tyler Perry and everyone kept asking Token to stop Perry money so he would go away?
Aside from that I heard Cardozo is notorious for admitting students with lower LSAT's to the May Program at the very last second... so yeah I am holding out hope still...

Re: Cardozo 2011
I have a hunch one of the things that helped me out was that both my LOCI and my additional LOR stressed how important living in NY is to my goal of becoming a consultant in the tech venture/startup world, which happens to be exploding in NY at the moment. So if you haven't already done so, find a close tie between your career aspirations/goals and NY, whether it's big law, federal courts, financial world, securities regulation, arts/music/entertainment, international culture, etc. Just a thought.jokerman wrote:Another day with no news or calls :/... anyway I am taking a tour of the school next week, so I was wondering if there is anything i should ask about that you guys think is important specifically to Cardozo?
