From 11/22 to 02/23. I'm afraid Duke is also a reach for me.

Still UR 11/8. I remember when I first saw I was UR and thought, "Great!! They'll be one of my first decisions, early December at the latest!" 3 1/2 months later...

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
I'm also UR 2/23 now and Duke is def. a reach. Seems like that's the case for most of the people UR 2/22 or 2/23 posting recently, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is a smattering of acceptances but mostly WL/reject within the next week or so
An acceptance would definitely send me to durham in the fall, but...I'd be mildly shocked to even receive a WL. Here's to hoping I'm wrong!
btw: I went from UR 12/13 to 2/23, so I'd think that's bad news for anyone UR before 12/13 that hasn't been updated yet...but I could be wrong.

Still UR 11/22 (174/3.5.) Was bummed at first but it looks to me like it's a good thing. Has anyone with late Nov. or later UR and non-pt heard back anything positive?

I'd think you'd be a very strong candidate at Duke. Did you take the LSAT multiple times or have C&F stuff?BeachedBrit wrote:Still UR 11/22 (174/3.5.) Was bummed at first but it looks to me like it's a good thing. Has anyone with late Nov. or later UR and non-pt heard back anything positive?

You think the turn-around will be that quick? I'd be surprised if it were. I guess it wouldn't be totally out of the question to get a decision by 5 pm friday, but I'd be mildly shocked.neonx wrote:I predict decisions (WL/DENY/ADMIT) will come in our inboxes by tomorrow night! -- for the 2/22 and 2/23 crew

It seems like they have been very quick once the update comes. Seemingly more so with admits than WL's or rejections. Complete guess, but I'm saying admits tomorrow evening, wl's and rejections friday.

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
I updated to 2/7 from 11/1 and didn't get a decision. That probably means I'm destined for the WL, but others have gotten WL decisions who updated later, so I don't know...Frasier27 wrote:It seems like they have been very quick once the update comes. Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
I guess that makes sense, yeah. I mean, if we've been UR since 11/x or 12/x anyway, then this should really be like a superficial gloss-over where the committee comes to a final agreement, no?Frasier27 wrote:It seems like they have been very quick once the update comes. You're probably right. Guess I might get my rejection this friday then

Same stats, still UR. I think they're going with this via boxes rather than dates.BeachedBrit wrote:Still UR 11/22 (174/3.5.) Was bummed at first but it looks to me like it's a good thing. Has anyone with late Nov. or later UR and non-pt heard back anything positive?

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
Does anyone know Duke's 2013 incoming class medians?
Edited to add: 170/3.80... I wonder if they're gonna push for the same stats.

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
If you look at their LSN acceptances (which I note on the Duke Law Class of 2014 thread), they've only admitted something like 20 people below 170. Obviously, LSN is self-selecting, but if you look at last year's first two pages of acceptances on LSN, only ~25-30 sub-170s out of the first 200 accepts. So they're on pace for the same... it looks like they're trying, at least. I think another big mark will be if people with exact 170 and sub med gpas start getting scholarship letters. That'd be a sure sign for me that they're trying to maintain what they 'achieved' last year.
Edit add: so far this year there's too few data to extrapolate from, but of the five or so 170s to receive scholly offers, all but one (who is URM) had a 3.8x or higher gpa. FWTW.

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
If the ED pool is any indication, I think they're definitely trying to maintain the 170 median. I got in with a 170/3.5 and a few 169/3.5s were flat out rejected. I'd also assume that they're attempting to reduce their class size (last year was over-enrolled), which will make keeping the medians a little easier.neonx wrote:Does anyone know Duke's 2013 incoming class medians?

Re: Duke NOT Priority Track
Yeah, but come on, two below median scores are not enough for ED usually, are they? I mean, sure, NYU will occasionally (like once or twice per year) take someone ED with my scores, 170/3.7, which is below med lsat, slightly below med gpa, but that's with a massive class to fill. 169/3.5 is below median lsat/below 25th median gpa for Duke.
Edit add: on LSN this year, Duke has only taken one non-URM that was below both medians.

Exactly, which leads one to believe that the median is staying at 170, no?mr_toad wrote:Yeah, but come on, two below median scores are not enough for ED usually, are they?
