I mean, no one has gotten pissy about my low-key participation. And I love bourbon and beer. It transcends gender.
+1. I know me posting there wasn't any attempt at misogyny.

Maybe it can become the bourbon and beer thread. I can't think there's anything men in particular need to discuss about their applications, unlike women or LGBTQ or URM folk for instance, but there's clearly a need for applicants to discuss their bourbon and beer.

Everybody needs to realize that gender is a social construct and that we can't keep supporting an it's "us against them" mentality in the fight against sexism! These are human issues that we should be collaborating with each other to address! We're all in the boat together after all!
....I'm really disliking this movement where people use "gender is a social construct" to deny the reality that women face sexism daily. Yes, collaboration is the best option, but the truth of the matter is that we are trying to achieve something that is against the male interest. 95% of sexism directly benefits men. To deny that is silly.
I'm advocating that women's issues are human issues and framing it for men that feminism is pro-women AND pro-men because addressing sexism benefits men and women.

I thouroughly believe that feminism and women's interests are NOT AGAINST men's interest.

The #1 reason i hear from women as to why they are hesitant to call themselves feminists is because they say they're not "anti-men."
