also, on a bit of a darker note, the FB group is at 424, which I don't believe includes this sunday's JS2s.

645 members in the class of 2016 group, so there should still be a lot of spots left!drawstring wrote:Do you know how many are in the 2106 group?rseaney wrote:also, on a bit of a darker note, the FB group is at 424, which I don't believe includes this sunday's JS2s.

Class of 2015 seems to be secret/doesn't show up, but Class of 2014 HLS group is just over 600 (probably due to attrition during the three years of law school)james.bungles wrote:Class of 2015 numbers? Around 650 too?

Well if we extrapolate, the FB group is about 65% full, and if we apply that to total admits, there should be about 300 acceptances still to come.

I think last time the FB group discussion occurred, it was pointed out that admits don't actually receive an invite to join the group, but there is a link provided in the admitted students website (pls correct me if I'm wrong). This might lead to some who don't join the group immediately, or others who may not join at all. Although I doubt it's a huge number that would fall under that category, I think they've given out more acceptances than the FB group suggests.james.bungles wrote:Well if we extrapolate, the FB group is about 65% full, and if we apply that to total admits, there should be about 300 acceptances still to come.

Remember that there aren't only going to be around 600 acceptances though. 850 total and then some people pick YSCC or no law school and probably leave the group... Obviously countering that is that some people don't have fb or don't join, but I think we have a lot more acceptances to go

I am wondering how many people are still in the same boat-- I applied in October and haven't heard a peep. I presume that is a bad sign?

It's not a great sign, but you also haven't been rejected, so there's that.gobosox wrote:I am wondering how many people are still in the same boat-- I applied in October and haven't heard a peep. I presume that is a bad sign?

What are your numbers, at least in relation to the HLS medians (173 3.88)?gobosox wrote:I am wondering how many people are still in the same boat-- I applied in October and haven't heard a peep. I presume that is a bad sign?

Got some good softs, got into Penn and WL at Columbia, for what it's worth.wtrc wrote:What are your numbers, at least in relation to the HLS medians (173 3.88)?gobosox wrote:I am wondering how many people are still in the same boat-- I applied in October and haven't heard a peep. So likely you'll be riding out the waitlist (depending on how far below median you are)gobosox wrote:Below. @the facebook group thing, yeah I figured since the facebook group is 65% full they've admitted 65%, which would leave about 300 of 850 left.

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
So if anything hearing nothing is almost a good sign. You've survived multiple waves of rejections. They want you -- there's something they like -- but they care about medians and need to wait until later in the cycle to see if they can take you. Agreed with James that a WL is likely.gobosox wrote:Below. well, i've been waiting almost 3 months, others longer, and some as few as 6(?) days.rosepond wrote:just finished my interview, so nerve-wracking! around how long does it take after the interview before you find out?
basically...there's no way to know.
i imagine that most everyone will have an initial decision within the next month and a half or so.

Yeah, 6 is the shortest JS1-->JS2 so far, according to the spreadsheet (I think there was a large wave after his/her interview), and the average is 25.1.
