Re: Minnesota 2010!
Took a while for things to arrive on my end. Over a week. The package is thin and was pretty damaged by the time it arrived on my doorstep.
It included a sticker.
I'm visiting in March. So excited to see the campus and the Twin Cities, but little plans to attend Minnesota.

Got the same at UIUC, waiting on other similar schools. Minn seems like a pretty cool school, I'm just not sure about being somewhat restrained to the northern Midwest forever. Scholly definitely keeps it in the running though!

Not to be contradictory, but I was offered almost $60k a year in scholarships (to cover living expenses as well as tuition.)LvingLegend wrote:Are you serious? OOS Tution is only 37K, why are they going to give someone almost twice the tution amount per year?

Re: Minnesota 2010!
Looking at your profile, it appears that they offered you 112K total, which is roughly 23K less per year than you just suggested. Am I missing something?itsirtou wrote:+1buzzgirl wrote:Not to be contradictory, but I was offered almost $60k a year in scholarships (to cover living expenses as well as tuition.)LvingLegend wrote:Are you serious? Re: Minnesota 2010!
Oh! I haven't updated it yet. When they called me a few weeks ago they said they was offering me full tuition, which I just assumed was the cost of tuition. I just got the packet yesterday, and that said what they were actually offering me was tuition plus living expenses.tamlyric wrote:Looking at your profile, it appears that they offered you 112K total, which is roughly 23K less per year than you just suggested. Thanks!! I was thinking of withdrawing from there before I got the packet, but it's awfully hard to turn down going to law school completely free!tamlyric wrote:Holy cow! Are you sure? That is a lot of money. I haven't ever seen a school go so far over tuition before, either. That's gotta make you feel good. Congrats!itsirtou wrote:Thanks!! I called the admissions office to clarify - the way it was worded in the merit award letter was a bit strange, but they confirmed that it is a little under $60k total per year. A very tempting offer, especially since my SO is from the midwest (and would love it if we moved back there...)
Best of luck to those still waiting - hopefully they have a few more of these large awards to hand out to you!
