my parents are visiting austin right now in their search to find a place to retire. As expected, they absolutely love it. Its a shame that I will not get in (3.6, 163). My mom asked if there is anything she can do to help. I told her to go flash the dean of admissions. Her response was "Why? He will just laugh."

the acceptance email at 4am 1/20. M y first acceptance and I'm soo o glad it's at my ug instiution. I love Austin and now I now for sure I won't have a disappointing cycle....

I did not think I would be posting something to this thread... UT was my far-reach w/ my LSAT of 158/3.93!!!! Not URM, but non-traditional(I guess), and out of state(international). I applied ED but deferred to RD. Letter dated 1/20/10.
It's a miracle............. It's my first acceptance from this cycle too!! I saw a big package in my mailbox, thought it was one of those invitations from others law schools, and then I saw "Welcome -- UT Austin." My fingers were literally shivering when I opened the package still in doubt, and there was the letter starting with "Congratulations!" I froze for like 5 mins in front of the elevator and could not move...

I am going to TEXAS!!!!!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Greatest surprise ever!

How quickly does UT traditionally let its applicants know? If I applied early January and just got me UT EID on January 23rd, how long of a wait am I looking at?

3.9 166 Mex urm TX resident UT undergrad worked two years teaching English in an impoverished area. Last year was with 18-25 year olds who could not graduate because they were immigrants. anybody know whY the next steps Are as far as scholarships and fin aid?

If you receive scholarships from UT they will send you a letter in the next 2 weeks, and they usually tell you to expect this letter if you qualify. Besides that, I would say fill out the FAFSA so you can see what loans/grants you will receive.

In as well! I woke up on the 20th (my birthday) to two emails from Texas. The first contained a link which had a birthday cake and the second said Congrats, you're in. Wasn't expecting this since I was held over from ED.

Duly noted (I acknowledged that in my post!). I suppose I meant to ask: Should I have written a LOCI? I know with schools like Michigan, they softly discourage sending in additional materials. With Texas - it was as if they were trying to make it sound like this is just a hold - it is not a deferral, it is not a waitlist - we'll automatically review your application after New Years. That sort of thing.

Anyway, congratulations to those who have gotten in!
