Guys, I'm in at Berkeley. Been working to get in since 2012
Avg numbers low ses.
How do I get money?
I fear I'll end up at Emory because of a lack of money.

According to the website, the FAFSA and CSS are required for need-based aid, so it looks like nothing is required for merit-based aid.chargers21 wrote:yes, somewhere it says that you need a CSS profile for Berkeley. I submitted the FAFSA and CSS already. Offers start mid-February according to their websiteKeilz wrote:so, if I'm reading this correctly, there is no action needed on our part to receive a merit scholarship offer? I also read that the offers come in spring but somewhere else said they start in December.
I know we have to submit FAFSA, but do we need to submit CSS PROFILE or any other form?

Anyone willing to chance me?
3.61/173, 1 year WE in Bay Area, 2 page PS, and wrote a 350 (meh). Ready to submit tomorrow (i know, late)
Berkeley is probably my top choice school, but would really like to have some scholarships to reduce costs (if I can get in)
Apply to UVA/Mich for negotiation? What about Duke/NU. So far only have HSC in for apps (long shots)
Realize that I might have to apply in September next year...

should we be filling out the CSS profile if we haven't (yet) gotten an acceptance from any school that requires them?chargers21 wrote:yes, somewhere it says that you need a CSS profile for Berkeley. Imo if Berkeley is a school you intend on enrolling in (or can at least see yourself attending), it's better to get the CSS in early even if you haven't received an acceptance yet. If you do get accepted, they can start putting together your aid package and you'll be able to negotiate that much earlier.studyingeveryday wrote:should we be filling out the CSS profile if we haven't (yet) gotten an acceptance from any school that requires them?chargers21 wrote:yes, somewhere it says that you need a CSS profile for Berkeley. coming back to this, I'm looking at their website now and don't see any mention of CSSarmc808 wrote:Imo if Berkeley is a school you intend on enrolling in (or can at least see yourself attending), it's better to get the CSS in early even if you haven't received an acceptance yet. I'm not sure about the website, but the admissions package they send out says FAFSA and CSS are both required for need-based aid.

Anyone know if any of last year's FR applicants got a decision sooner than the date given? I'm hoping "on or around 2/3" does not mean we may find out even later than that date /:

I think the first batch found out on the exact date as projected and the second batch of FR found out a day early.Assasindowntheavenue wrote:hopeful applicant wrote:genjustice wrote:In other news, FR people where you at?! You probably will be later today. Maybe they're just taking everyone who applied over a span of a few days and going alphabetically or something. I wasn't this morning so it just happened.Monday wrote:I'm not. I guess you win the race to UR.Rigo wrote:Weeeeeeeeee under review!
