Has the CDO advisor been helpful for you so far? I want to make sure I navigate the OCI/outside internship process correctly and I know there are early deadlines etc. you need to follow well. Do you think BU offers a lot of support with that? Feel free to PM!

I asked when I called asking a question about need-based aid - they directed me to the general financial aid email, as they're a small office an it'll get to who it needs to go to.

Submitted 11/28 with a GPA between the 25th and the median and an LSAT 12 points above the 75th. I'm in at a number of T14s, but have heard radio silence from BU. Should I send in a LOCI?

With a 175+ I'm racking my brain as to why you care about BU honestly. No offense. I'm giving you a huge compliment.

I want to live (permanently) in Boston and have little interest in biglaw. So BU with a decent scholarship would be one of my top choices.

Why the shit wouldn't you more seriously go for Harvard...

I'd love to attend Harvard. But you don't get a JS1 (or a JS2) just by loving Harvard. I'm not saying I'm singularly focused on BU, but it's one of my top choices. Given my desire to live in Boston, my career plans, and my debt aversion, I don't think that's unreasonable.

The CDO is amazing. They were extremely helpful if you didn't know anything about OCI, but they won't talk to you about OCI til late spring.

If I were you, I would go on here though and find the how to on OCI and follow it to a tee. Out of everything I did, I got one offer from OCI and one from massmailing (after emailing probably 500+ offices). The CDO will be a great place to start and if you tell them early that biglaw is the goal they will give you the right advice: just focus on grades. However, if you follow the advice in the legal employment forums, you will have a step ahead of everyone especially if you are a borderline candidate and massmail as early as possible.

ETA: also doing the off-campus programs in NYC, Chicago, D.C., philly, etc. are worth it even if you don't wanna work there in the long run. They give you screener experience before OCI starts. If you have any other questions or anyone else does, just message me. I'm swamped right now, but I will reply.

Silence for officially a month now, should I be worried?

I have a three week trial for work in New York. The dates are March 20-April 11. The only two ASW I wanted to attend were BU's and NU's. BOTH ARE DURING THAT TIME PERIOD :'( #devastated

You're right! Are you deciding between Emory and BU still?

I'm actually leaning towards BU. I hate snow but I have this thing for big cities that are in the north east, lol. However, I could go to Atlanta (I plan on going and spending some time there to get a feel) and end up loving the city, which is definitely more affordable than Boston. Basically, I have no idea what I'm doing and it keeps me up at night lol. I hate all this uncertainty. I wish the last handful of schools would hurry up and decide on me/schools would hurry up and give financial aid info so I can get a full understanding of what my options are.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm also completely torn between Emory and BU.

My status checker didn't update for at least a week after I got the call.
