People still UR since September huh. I guess I'm just gonna stop checking my tracker. I went UR 1/23, so if I'm lucky I might get my rejection before the fall semester starts.

There are a lot of nicer ways of saying this. Refer to pretzletime's post.dyebri wrote:anonperson2017 wrote:Still figuring out the answer to this myself with S and a Dillard on the table.ood's_brother wrote:How much money would S have to give y'all to leave behind a full ride at a mid T14 like Berkeley or Michigan?
Go have this problem in the admitted student thread
But yea man maybe we can breath some life into the accepted students thread.

Re: Stanford C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017 Cycle)
I agree that the question has merit for both threads. It's a HYPO I thought about before getting admitted. And I think the posts after pretzel were people who reply without first reading all the follow up posts. It's what I do. I don't think they meant any harm.Monday wrote:Ood's is not an admits-only hypothetical. Sure, the discussions about the timing of financial aid packages à la katthegreat and taxman were more appropriate in the accepted students' thread (I am not sure why anyone would be this up in arms about the discussion being on this thread in the first place though), but questions about "How much will it take?" is something that will help any applicant in terms of deciding when to end his or her application cycle.People have asked numerous times nicer and still continue on this thread.
However, the atmosphere in the S thread is very tightly wound. I find it very ironic that the same poster that joked about an addmisons officer getting "stuffed" seemed the most upset by an "off topic" conversation.
But yea I'm all for having fun, but this doesn't seem like the place to. Back to the H thread for me.

Re: Stanford C/O 2020 Applicants (2016-2017 Cycle)
So I just checked out the timeline graph for applicants on MyLSN, and it showed almost no one who applied in November as having waited this long and still gotten accepted.
At this point should I be hoping for a WL, or am I missing something with the data?

Don't worry, I see a few people on LSN who applied in Nov and got accepted in late March and in AprilWhittie wrote:So I just checked out the timeline graph for applicants on MyLSN, and it showed almost no one who applied in November as having waited this long and still gotten accepted.

Which comes first, movement at SLS or the premier of Game of Thrones?
Also, can we just talk about how annoying it is that all these law schools AND GoT are making us wait?

Maybe this year schools are test piloting a waitlist free admissions process for much of the applicant base.

Why are you still following up on S financial aid if it is as easy as that? Don't you also have multiple full rides outside of HYS?taxman14 wrote:Are you insane? Only curious to see if I can make it a worthwhile consideration. Anything over $60k total cost isn't worth the premiumplayersball wrote:Why are you still following up on S financial aid if it is as easy as that? Except that both go to the moon - one does it in a Porsche, the other in a Ferrari. The Porsche is free but the Ferrari is $300k. Seems pretty logicalcanafsa wrote:TLS is filled with a bunch of scared babies. They'd have told Neil Armstrong that he could make more money going to dental school than flying to the moon.

spend three years in a Ferrari so you can spend 5 in slavery at a biglaw firm!canafsa wrote:Michigan will get you to the moon in the sense that you'll spend three years living in a frigid desolate wasteland. How much debt are you and your former classmates currently repaying at your biglaw jobs? I can never remember but I know you dismiss and ridicule people who give the advice of taking scholarship money. Maybe you just enjoy trolling- same as making remarks about Columbia dropping 1 point but ignoring the Harvard drop?canafsa wrote:Michigan will get you to the moon in the sense that you'll spend three years living in a frigid desolate wasteland. I just want to know what your personal experience with debt repayment is so I can decide how to privilege it.
