+1, thought the interview request was never coming...hope I don't have to wait that long again for a decision.BillClinton Jr wrote:Been "ready for review" since 11/30, interview requested today...how long are people getting decisions after they interview? I was just thinking this! It says to get the interview in within 10 days so I assume that means they want to get decisions turned around quickly, hopefully. I just want to poke through the thread and see if interviewed people are mostly getting accepted or if this interview is a make or break type of thingcdavis1024 wrote:+1, thought the interview request was never coming...hope I don't have to wait that long again for a decision.BillClinton Jr wrote:Been "ready for review" since 11/30, interview requested today...how long are people getting decisions after they interview? From what I've seen, there have been a bunch of acceptances post-interview, but some waitlists and rejections (so it's no guarantee). I also believe there are still some December interviews waiting for responses; personally, I submitted mine last week and am still waiting, so the turnaround isn't that fast.BillClinton Jr wrote:I was just thinking this! Congrats on your good news BC. So far, no one has been admitted without the interview so it is a positive sign, but a few folks seem to have gotten bad news after interviewing, so its not a sure thing. If you've never done anything like it before, I strongly suggest doing a little practice beforehand (I'm pretty sure you can find the questions by poking around here). FWIW, I was admitted about 5 hours after submitting, but that was super early and other folks have had wildy varying wait times. Good luck to everyone!BillClinton Jr wrote: I was just thinking this! I interviewed mid-December and haven't heard back. Frankly, I was really awkward in that interview and I think damaged my otherwise good chances. Idk I'm taking my lack of hearing as the very bearish sign it is.fliptrip wrote:Congrats on your good news BC. I interviewed in the same time frame and haven't heard anything either. I thought it went quite well so I wouldn't take what you felt as a poor interview as the reason for the silence. I don't know if that makes you feel better or worse lolPo$eidon wrote:I interviewed mid-December and haven't heard back. Better. Definitely better. I wasn't awful - it was just super weird and I didn't do a ton of prep questions as they seemed easy but the real things were bizarre-o.gamerish wrote:I interviewed in the same time frame and haven't heard anything either. Just finished my interview. The questions were not what I expected.
#1 Name a time you helped someone else accomplish their goal.
#2 What are your hobbies outside of work and school.
#3 Name an experience that broadened your outlook.
#4 What do you hope to attain with an education at Cornell.

Thank you for posting the questions you had. Are the questions different for everyone? Are there some that are standard?

I had four different ones than those, but mine were similarly pretty generic. None of mine felt terribly high pressure type questions.B102 wrote:Thank you for posting the questions you had. Are the questions different for everyone? Are there some that are standard?

Thanks. Knowing that they tend to be generic like that helps me feel a bit more at ease.

Re: Cornell Law School c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Honestly, I was expecting it to be much harder than it was. Do a practice and learn how long a minute is to respond in, and that's really the only challenge. I feel like if you prepare on questions from another thread (I used the Chicago ones, as I was preparing for my Chicago interview at the same time), and can get your answers down to about a minute, you'll be all set.B102 wrote:Thanks. Edit: The one question I had that wasn't on that list was something to the effect of describe your ideal law school.

Ready for review 12/17 and no interview request today
I'm starting to get a little worried. Hopefully I'll hear next week...

Hi everyone! I just joined the TLS community, so I'm a little out of the loop. Have they only begun issuing interview requests? Does Cornell tell you about this through email? Getting nervous because I haven't heard ANYTHING at all from them...

My status date changed today, and you're joking if you don't think I'm 193814871% reading too much into it.

It seems that everyone who gets accepted has interviewed, but that there are some rejects and WLs without an interview request.proteinshake wrote:do most people get interviewed?
