You're overthinking it.SirArthurDayne wrote:Quick question for you guys about resumes: I'm trying to decide how I should list my current place of employment. I know the general rule is to use present tense if you are currently occupied in that position, but sense I'm applying to law school, I'm trying to highlight what I've already done. Would it be okay to list my current responsibilities in the past tense?

Good stuff dood. You're a pretty strong candidate so you should get it. I think the real question is Duke or Cornell, if money is a wash.basedvulpes wrote:Checking in as an applicant!!!![]()

If it makes you feel better. I had all my current stuff in present tense. Then I changed it to past tense based on the recommendation of my SO. Unless you have wildly inaccurate claims, or ridiculous misspellings, I think they are mostly looking for experiences, not necessarily specific format other than the usual "looks nice, organized, easily readable".SirArthurDayne wrote:Quick question for you guys about resumes: I'm trying to decide how I should list my current place of employment. So for my NYU app, on my resume, I shouldn't put under the education tab "NYU Law. 2016-2019. Will rank 1 in class. Law Review, Moot Court, Mock Trial, Underwater Basket Weaving Champion"?benwyatt wrote:Just don't do future tense.lymenheimer wrote:If it makes you feel better. Pretty sure that's the only way to screw it up.

Just so you're not stressing on the 27th and pissed on the 28th, and if you didn't realize this prior: 10 days starts from completion of your application materials, not the submission date.basedvulpes wrote:PT application complete, ready for review. This is all so exciting!

With that being said...GOOD LUCK! and I hope you don't fall victim to the 10th day decision and the paranoia therein.basedvulpes wrote:That's kind of what I figured, but thanks!lymenheimer wrote:Just so you're not stressing on the 27th and pissed on the 28th, and if you didn't realize this prior: 10 days starts from completion of your application materials, not the submission date.basedvulpes wrote:PT application complete, ready for review.
