I only have two recommenders at the moment because one of the people I emailed never got back to me.
Trying to decide if I should look for another academic reference, or if I'm okay sticking with 1 academic, 1 professional.

And well out of UG should be defined as 7-10 years out.benwyatt wrote:Are you K-JD or close?barley wrote:I only have two recommenders at the moment because one of the people I emailed never got back to me.Trying to decide if I should look for another academic reference, or if I'm okay sticking with 1 academic, 1 professional.
Unless you're well out of UG, I would definitely plan to have 2 academic.

I'm currently one year out/two total by the time I start.doublehoohopeful wrote:And well out of UG should be defined as 7-10 years out.benwyatt wrote:Are you K-JD or close?barley wrote:I only have two recommenders at the moment because one of the people I emailed never got back to me.Trying to decide if I should look for another academic reference, or if I'm okay sticking with 1 academic, 1 professional.

I was really banking on this one, so my fingers are crossed that she's on vacation or something and will reply once school starts up again. But I guess I'll find an alternate since the common thinking seems to be that 2 academic is necessary.

At least for me, soliciting LORs from my professors was unduly difficult and took a ridiculous amount of time. I'd try to nail down the strongest LORs you can get and let that dictate your schedule.barley wrote:I'm currently one year out/two total by the time I start.doublehoohopeful wrote:And well out of UG should be defined as 7-10 years out.benwyatt wrote:Are you K-JD or close?barley wrote:I only have two recommenders at the moment because one of the people I emailed never got back to me.Trying to decide if I should look for another academic reference, or if I'm okay sticking with 1 academic, 1 professional.

There were like 85 Rhodes Scholars for 2015. How many OPs are there?basedvulpes wrote:MAY I FAMILIARIZE YOU WITH A METAPHORbasedvulpes wrote:I don't understand people's reluctance to OP new threads, at an acceptable minimum it takes literally 1 hour of upfront work and then just making sure you don't die for the next year.
The compendium, on the other hand, takes true responsibility.

That sounds like a challenge.Hildegard15 wrote:I would attempt to do it if I could reach 100 posts.
