Thanks! Now I can begin the frantic refreshing in a few days :D
You were an October taker, right? I wouldn't really expect a decision in the first wave if that's the case.

That said, by all means join in the refreshing game with us

Any idea how frequently waves come after the first one? I was an October taker as well and got my apps in the first day of November

Yes I was, so getting a decision in the first wave would definitely be expecting a lot. But the hope is there! I've been UR since 11/18, so I'm crossing my fingers that it means I'll get a decision sooner rather than later.

I'm always down to refresh 8)

Not to continue to be a bubble burster, but it's not uncommon for people to be UR for a long time at NYU. June taker have been UR since 9/15. I think unless your stats are really strong then a 13 day turnaround is unreal. But who knows, I have no more real insight into this than anyone else :D

Not really. Last year on LSN there were 45 on 12/1 and then 30 something on 12/2. So they do a ton in the first week or two of December.

Your status checker will say "Decision Letter Sent" and then by the next day you should be able to log into the Admitted Students Website.
If you go DLS this early, it means in.

Ehh I figured my expectations were pretty unrealistic
But now that I have a T14 acceptance under my belt, I feel much more secure waiting for other decisions!

Thanks, cbbinnyc! I'm really hoping it's not another week after this Monday.

Slizerd, I think it's plausible that your stuff might come out with everyone else. Admissions seems like it's a lot to do with comparison against the whole applicant pool, so while 2 weeks is an unrealistic wait for an applicant at a good school in September, it seems proportionally less unrealistic if you apply from November-January. They wait for the influx of apps/information as deadlines and score releases pass to get a sense of who's applying that year.

DON'T STOP BELIEVING.

ooohhh that's a good way to look at it! Unfortunately, when it comes to NYU applicants I feel like I'm in the middle of the pool, impressive-ness wise.

But I'm still gonna HOLD ON TO THAT FEELING

I think this is spot on. Stellar stats might get you a first round decision in December. Then I'd say ED apps get priority for first round decisions, no matter if you take October or not.

After doing a lot more research this week into NY and NYU the hype is real. NYU is that one school that I didn't apply to previously those this decision is going to be a real surprise.

Ohhh. I thought that was new and vaguely unrelated--like theugg actually got their decision, or something. I was super excited.

I was actually already planning on wearing a purple dress tomorrow without even thinking of NYU. This is a good sign.
