do you think post-waitlist JS1s who didn't get a JS2 will get dings soon? Or do you think we have a chance in the next wave of JS2s?

This past wave of JS2s were mostly pre-WL JS1s. The next wave of JS2s will likely be mostly post-WL J1s, so we definitely have "a chance" in the next wave!

That's what happened last year? What was the delay between the waves like? I suppose no calls/e-mails today but should we anticipate a JS2 wave next week made up largely of post-waitlist JS1s?

do they actually admit 200 or did you mean 20? That seems like a big number.

From past threads I've heard 800 on the wait list and about 200 offers. They make about 1000 offers in total I believe

Thanks for the links. Actually I went through the threads of the last three years when Lavitz made a comment about holds before New Year's. It seems like there are two groups that get held. 1) Competitive applications that for whatever reason didn't overly impress them. In the past some of these folks have received interview invites as early as January. 2) And then there are some applications that are held because it seems that Harvard just didn't get around to finishing whatever process they have before rejecting. Harvard uses the hold very liberally, even putting people on hold in the middle of April, by which point it is effectively a waitlist.

I don't know if we can figure out what the odds are based on TLS because a lot of people don't report back about their final results. But it doesn't look good.

In general, going through these threads is oddly reminiscent of reading Anne Frank’s diary. There is much baseless optimism even while conditions become gloomier. And then the story comes to an abrupt close, leaving the reader to infer the ending.

BTW: For those who have not been held yet, there is a gem on page 13 of the 2011 hold thread that belongs somewhere here. Someone might want to bring it over.

One more thing: This is Harvard. The only kind of optimism we are really entitled to is this kind http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qULSszbA ... re=related.

Not a clue.... would also be interested in if we are seeing any GPA/LSAT trends in those admits or if it looks like it might be more softs/whoever they like at this point?

Just looking at raw data it looks like most people have at least one number at or above median.
