Yes, Mich YPs. It also seems like they haven't moved on a lot of high LSAT applicants yet this cycle. I think there was a discussion about that ITT a couple days ago.

Yet they've sent out Darrow invitations...lc39 wrote:Yes, Mich YPs. It also seems like they haven't moved on a lot of high LSAT applicants yet this cycle. I think there was a discussion about that ITT a couple days ago.

So Darrows are like the one thing about Michigan I know nothing about. Are invitations mostly numbers based? Is there a chance my shining personality could outshine my slightly below medians numbers and score me an invite? (A girl can dream can't she?
)

They say it can be anywhere from partial to full scholarship + a stipend. Fingers crossed!

oh! so wait if you don't get an invite you're not considered for a scholarship at all?? Or are there other types of merit based scholarships?try.honesty wrote:ChemEng1642 wrote:Darrow is the full scholarship I assume?

I'm above both 75ths, well above LSAT. OOS, no connection to Michigan - never have even visited (but am excited!!).
Would rather PM about acceptance date and such.

No, they also give out "Dean's Scholarships," but Darrows are usually more substantial.

Hi all! I've been lurking for a while. I got accepted to Michigan last Friday, and would love to see you all there in the summer/fall. I apologize for asking such a stupid question (rest assured, I've looked around for an answer on my own already). What does YP stand for?

Yield protection. Schools waitlist or reject people with numbers much higher than their (the school's) medians because they don't believe those people are actually likely to attend (since they could get into higher ranked schools, maybe with $$). They do this to keep their acceptance rate down, which helps them in rankings systems.soexcited wrote:Hi all! I've been lurking for a while. I don't know if any school has ever actually admitted to doing this, but it's accepted as true here on TLS.

It's also corroborated by LSN datatk17 wrote:Yield protection. this might be a stupid question but you can only possibly get a darrow invite once you're already accepted, right?

Yeah, pretty sure you have to be accepted first and then invite comes afterwards. There were lots of available spots (of course not all will be used but still) so I imagine they'll be sending out more waves soon.jamief227 wrote:this might be a stupid question but you can only possibly get a darrow invite once you're already accepted, right?

Lol. How great would it be if you could select which schools you want CRS to give your information to. ie. T14, T20, etc. etc.
