Sorry if I've missed something earlier in the thread, but why do you guys think those of us who applied on/before 12/1 will get our decisions on Monday? Thanks for the help, I'm anxious to hear back

I was complete 11/20, but had an added LSAT score from December. Do I count as complete before or after 12/1?

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
Thanks! My most recent update was Application Complete on 12/4 so I probably didn't make the cut for next week's wave. Good luck everyone!smccgrey wrote:Here's why!Liz_Lemon wrote:Sorry if I've missed something earlier in the thread, but why do you guys think those of us who applied on/before 12/1 will get our decisions on Monday? (1) The Admissions Committee begins reviewing completed applications in early December (with the exception of Two-Year JD applications – see #3 below).
(2) Once your application status is complete, please allow 8 weeks to receive a decision. If your application is complete before December, the 8-week period will begin on December 1.

Re: Northwestern Law c/o 2018 Applicants
The Northwestern decision letter page had a note that basically said "give us 8 weeks from your complete date to render a decision with the earliest date being 12/1" which when they start considering RD I believe. This Monday is exactly 8 weeks from 12/1 which is when the 8 week period started for anyone that went complete 12/1 or earlier.Liz_Lemon wrote:Sorry if I've missed something earlier in the thread, but why do you guys think those of us who applied on/before 12/1 will get our decisions on Monday? So it's not necessarily applying on/before 12/1 but going complete on/before then. Then again the rule might not turn out to be a hard and fast rule in which case we won't hear anything...
Edit: Scooped much better by grey

does anyone have an accurate guess at cycle time between UR2 (application complete 2) and acceptance? I'm talking RD kids that have been accepted, I know it's going to vary and what not, but just curious...

It could even be longer than Monday. Vanderbilt says that their decision will come within 12 weeks of a complete application, but for many of us, they've exceeded that deadline. Hopefully Northwestern won't stray and will stick to their 8 week deadline!theramblingfool wrote:I sure hope not...smccgrey wrote:So do we think we're all just going to be waiting until monday?
But probably.

I think NW says explicitly somewhere they stick to their 10 week thing, while Vandy's is more of a "guideline." the code is what you'd call more of a guideline that actual rules.

Question about "Complete" date.
I went Complete 12/18, then snagged a late interview so went Incomplete, and Complete post-interview on 1/16. Guesses as to whether my "10 week" decision starts at 12/18 or now restarts at 1/16?

Any idea on AJD acceptances? Do we have to wait until Jan 31 do that they can review all applicants at once?

If anyone follows @tweetsbyjohann on twitter, the assistant dean is hilarious and pretty informative.

Agreed - so glad I did answer question 17 even though I was debating whether to do so. Although when he tweets jokes about decisions coming out I always die inside a little when I discover that I'm sitting at "complete"monkeyKT wrote:If anyone follows @tweetsbyjohann on twitter, the assistant dean is hilarious and pretty informative.
