added poll. I felt like Berk had to be its own because of what we've been talking about

Since Berk hasn't been getting enough love: I'd be thrilled to go there!
Might apply to UVA, but I really don't want to live in Virginia and am otherwise pretty apathetic towards the school.
Otherwise, minus Northwestern, essentially blanketing T14.

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
Probably very silly reasons. Part of it is a weird bias leftover from undergrad that isn't rational but colors my thinking about it. Part of it is that there are extra little incentives I keep seeing for other schools for very specific interests I have, and Northwestern doesn't... really have much in my area. If that makes sense, which it probably doesn't.smccgrey wrote:No Northwestern? Why not, out of curiosity?middlebear wrote:Since Berk hasn't been getting enough love: I'd be thrilled to go there!

This might change? I don't know. Logical part of me is saying to pony up and apply, but I'm really just not at all interested in going there. It and UVA would be at the bottom of the hypothetical list, unless there was major bribery.

Totally understandable. There is nothing at UVA other than few buildings, and an airport! Ughhsmccgrey wrote:I need to be in a big city (not personal preference, actual need) and NYC is super fucking expensive, so options are limited. Shame there's not a t14 I could get into in Boston.Learn_Live_Hope wrote:Not into UVA either. What's with all the berk hate? It's my#1 and I hate the idea of cali, but they have some clinics and student orgs I'm interested in.

I'll defend the grouping:rebexness wrote:Duke/Mich/CORNELL?
wut is this nonsense?
All three are easily the least unique of the T14
-Neither splitter friendly nor softs obsessed
-None are in major cities
-None have weird class sizes
-None are the best in their region (UVA for Duke, NYC schools for Cornell, other nearby midwest schools for UMich)
They just don't have that much special for poll differentiation purposes other than being in the T14 in the first place.
Northwestern, GULC, and and the schools above Duke all contribute more to the granularity than the vanilla group of Duke/Mich/Cornell.
Tough call but I totally stand by it.

Lots of confused Americans? Haha that made me laugh.smccgrey wrote:Lol what would we do without bros.rebexness wrote:UVA has bros, polo, and softball. What else do you need?Learn_Live_Hope wrote: Totally understandable. There is nothing at UVA other than few buildings, and an airport! Ughh
Osheaga was this weekend (Montreal's version of coachella, not sure how well known it is). There was an invasion of bros and bitties. Girls in crop tops and denim booty shorts around every corner. Lots of confused Americans.
I have no one to worry about when deciding, and I'm still avoiding UVA.

So is it smart to take the offer from WUSTL to apply now with fee waiver then they roll the app over for this coming cycle? Or is will the application get lost in their systems or something like that.

For me it's less of the place and more of how far it is from everything else. But I could get used to a warmer climate.pulstar1 wrote:Cali is amazing!
