Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
So, just to clarify, if we qualify for the reduced deposit ($200) because we attended ASW, do we still get a $100 refund if we decide by June 1 that we are not going to attend? I am getting ready to submit my deposit, but I'm also getting nervous!

How soon is too soon to start renegotiating scholarships? Wanted to wait past the April 1 deadline.

Maybe waiting more than a day would be best. Now would be a good time to compile other offers (in order to send them) and craft an articulate statement describing your interest in WF and the difference that additional scholarship would make.

Is the video interview awkward? I hope they don't judge by how bad my camera is lol.

anyone know how to withdraw after I've already made a deposit? I deposited it Wake Monday morning and my situation has changed drastically since then. I emailed Dean Shively but I'm not sure what else to do

Dean Shively is pretty on the ball and is usually quite fast at answering emails. I'd just wait a little while. I emailed him about a tech issue and he quickly sent it to the right department.cmroberto wrote:anyone know how to withdraw after I've already made a deposit? huh. I also emailed him with an issue but he never got back to me. It was probably one of the craziest weeks when I emailed him, but if you don't hear in a few days you might want to send a follow up.cricketlove00 wrote:Dean Shively is pretty on the ball and is usually quite fast at answering emails. Spoke to Dean Shively -- he said that they are super strained with money right now and additional scholarship reconsiderations will be by mid-April, if any at all. He said they would be emailed automatically.

I decided not to pay my deposit, and hence not to attend Wake... so there is close to a full-ride worth of scholarship $$$ back in the pot. I hope one of you, my fellow TLSers, gets my money (and maybe my spot if any of you are wait-listers). Good luck friends!

Recording my interview tomorrow. Dreading it as I have zero experience using a webcam... so seeing my face, live, staring back at me sounds really awkward. Can anybody tell me what I'm going to actually see on the screen while I'm answering the questions? Will I see my own face? Will I see the question?
Just trying my best to be grateful its this and not a ding.

yes, thanks for asking! it's nothing against Wake - I went to ASW and loved the school/professors/environment, but NC is not for me and I unexpectedly got into USC on Monday night with big money after 5 months of expecting a ding. I couldn't turn down that opportunity, especially since I plan to practice entertainment lawcricketlove00 wrote:Thanks.cmroberto wrote:I withdrew today and had 27k per year. hopefully someone else gets it and best of luck to you all!

UNC's offer was a little low and GW has yet to up their offer, so Wake is looking more and more likely every day. Can't wait to visit! Hope you all come to the open house on the 11th.

So everyone will get automatically reconsidered? Or do we have to submit an interest in renegotiating? I hope they automatically reconsider everyone cause even just a little bit more would make mecricketlove00 wrote:Spoke to Dean Shively -- he said that they are super strained with money right now and additional scholarship reconsiderations will be by mid-April, if any at all. Applying here really late (FWIW, their deadline has been extended to May 1st) -- anyone have an idea of what I can expect? Their admissions staff has been really on the ball with emails.

Does anyone have any input on the apt complex The Corners? It looks very dog-friendly (I have a big mutt) and it is still cheap and close to campus. I am planning to attend house hunt, but I am not sure how having a dog will affect potential roommates' interest in splitting a 2 br. Thanks for the input.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
