I guess it's not really a reserve (their WL), more of a deferral. Which surprises me.

I submitted end of October. It was such a hail mary that it would be absurd for me to be upset honestly.

I am sure you must be disappointed, but there's light on the other end of the tunnel. Many moons ago I was deferred from my undergraduate first choice (Yale - EA) and ultimately got in but didn't go. Turned out to be one of my better life decisions, so don't get too down about it.

I can't remember exactly, but I think it took Columbia 9 days to email me some sort of acknowledgement.

Yes - I applied on the deadline, very early in the morning of November 15.

ED here with no email as well. Honestly, not to worsen you guys' anxiety but this is obviously strictly my opinion. All the emails thus far (including the Nov 20 ones) included acceptances, deferrals, holds etc...so the only emails NOT sent out are rejections, so I'm beginning to think that's the pile I'm in. UGH. I'd just like to know already either way.

REALLY hope my train of thought is wrong though.

Do they even outright reject EDs?

I am nearly positive that your train of thought is wrong.

I don't think they did last year.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, goldengirl, but last year I remember there were a few people accepted ED after the initial deferral "wave." I think if we can survive this we still have a shot..

I agree. I think this was the deferral wave and those left could either be deferred or accepted. it happened last year.

If they follow last year's trend, I don't think so.
