I've been gone 3 months and I completely agree with you! I miss taking the classes, even though Core and Turbo Kick almost killed me. 4 months until we're back!gatorgirl2012 wrote:Southwest Rec is among the top five things I miss about gainesville. No joke.

The gym at my undergrad was nothing like that and the local gym I belong to now is a fraction of that size.itachiuchiha wrote:do you even lift?1693 wrote:FeelTheHeat wrote:Wow that is incredible! Cannot wait to have access to that kind of gym!

It's about four times the size of the FIU one, so there's that. It's a supremely nice gym.itachiuchiha wrote:do you even lift?1693 wrote:FeelTheHeat wrote:Wow that is incredible! Cannot wait to have access to that kind of gym!

Yeah, that puts the FIU gym to shame.FeelTheHeat wrote:It's about four times the size of the FIU one, so there's that. It's a supremely nice gym.

I didn't realize that. How do you 2Ls and 3Ls feel about the job prospect situation in Florida?Gator_Bait wrote:It's pretty funny that half of the people in this group are 2Ls and 3Ls

I guess that's a nation-wide phenomenon. Would you say UF is still probably about the best bet inside of Fl? I think FSU has a little better LST score, but it seems as though UF is the more esteemed institution.FeelTheHeat wrote:sucksCO2016YEAH wrote: I didn't realize that. I'd say they're both pretty much equal although any advantage FSU may have had in terms of gov't work is likely going to be in the toilet thanks to all the budget cuts and whatnot. I've gotten three emails in the last week informing me that a program I had applied for is no longer paid or has been discontinued altogether. If you have to choose between the two, go to the one at which you're most comfortable.CO2016YEAH wrote:I guess that's a nation-wide phenomenon. Thanks. The juggle right now is between UF and a few Southern California schools. I did not apply to FSU.LSATmakesMeNeurotic wrote:I'd say they're both pretty much equal although any advantage FSU may have had in terms of gov't work is likely going to be in the toilet thanks to all the budget cuts and whatnot. So then why ask about FSU?

To gauge from a local as to whether my perception and previously gained insight is accurate. I had heard that FSU placed a lot in gov, which isn't really what I'm after. UF was particularly appealing based on my perception of its superior rep. I was never sure if I'd go to Fl and still am not, but if I go I want to go for the best in the state. UF ranks marginally higher and the "Gator Network" supposedly has an extremely loyal base. So, basically I just wanted further insight into whether I made a good choice.

Anyone else here concerned by the fact that UFs LST score in Florida is lower than FSU, UM, Stetson, and FIU? What am I missing here?

Anyone know the best (and relatively cheap) 1/1 or studio apartment to live for law school?

Re: UF Class of 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
Only negligibly. I think the important thing to look at is the quality of the jobs. While by no means amazing, UF surpasses all of those schools in biglaw and fed clerkships. Also, if you look at the types of firms, UF tends to have far fewer in the solo-10 attorneys section.gameface wrote:Anyone else here concerned by the fact that UFs LST score in Florida is lower than FSU, UM, Stetson, and FIU?
