The Vanderbilt website says about 70% of students are on need-based or merit scholarships, with a pretty good average award. Any chance that's mostly merit or are merit scholarships few and far between?

I haven't looked at any actual hard data for this but popular opinion is that need-based aid for law school is fairly uncommon/difficult to get, so I imagine a good proportion of those are merit-based.

can you negotiate with lower t14 with a vandy scholly ?

Doubtful. I don't think the lower T14 would view Vandy as a peer (even if their placement is pretty close or better in the case of GULC) and at least for people with my numbers Vandy is the most generous school in the T18 as far as scholarships go. I don't think, say, Northwestern would really want to keep up with that at all.

I agree for the most part. You may be able to nudge them a bit with a few grand but I dont know for sure.

I was wondering, do you think merely an acceptance at sticker from a t14 would cause Vandy to negotiate scholly?
