This is so how I'm feeling. Definitely not looking forward to that big red spike the first week of Jan...
Berkeley really is my dream school. But if I'm going to get dinged I'd love for it to be sooner rather than later so I can move on.
This. Also, I was already dinged once last cycle so to be spurned twice by my alma mater after a lengthy wait will really sting.
Cal still admits plenty of students from the admissions committee after the Dean is done with the preliminary review, which was the last two weeks I think.. but I'm not terribly hopeful for myself. too much emphasis on raw GPA over LSAT; I'm expecting to get shafted here even though I'll be in at CCN.. this will probably be my saddest rejection letter though.

Lots of admits with your GPA or lower; I'm one of them.

UCLA: http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=ucla
Berkeley: http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=berkeley

Last year UCLA placed its grads into lawyer jobs at a rate lower than such venerable institutions as Mercer, Campbell, and Seton Hall. No doubt top third at UCLA does quite well but what are you going to do if you end up median or below?

Not the thread/forum for this so that's all I'm going to say.

Also: Berkeley, I love you.

well if you graduate in the top 30% at UCLA you will get an offer from a big law firm in LA. I mean that's the reality.

JUST GOT THE CALL, AND I'M IN!

I was on the other line with my friend, and my iPhone told me the number was calling from Berkeley so I screamed OMG GETTING A CALL FROM BERKELEY GOTTA GO BYE.

That would have been the biggest let down if it had been some spam call.

Same here - and my stats are above their 75th. Anela00 and I are almost numbers twins.

I just got my semester grades and they boosted by GPA significantly (gotta love 4.33 A+). My university sent my updated transcript to LSAC today. Should I contact Berkeley about the change or just wait for LSAC to notify them?

Yes you are. Anyone that uses LSAC is because they recalculate.

Nope, because some schools don't offer the option of an A+. If your school gives just a regular "A" for a 100%, all LSAC sees is that A. Since they can't see a percentage they assume it's just an A and only give you 4.0 for it. I'm unfortunately in this boat as well since my school didn't give A+s either. I think it's the biggest flaw with GPA weighting and the ranking system currently, since some applicants can get a boost that others can't, but I guess it is what it is.

Anyway, congrats on the new grades! It can't hurt to give them a call and warn them a new (better) transcript is coming so they don't rush to a decision before seeing it.

Ah. I didn't consider a school that didn't weight OR give A+s. My school didn't start weighting GPAs until this year, but they still gave +/- to students.

I suspect that they might not care about that as much as you think. Would they look at the your class rank?? The Yale law dean says that's what they look at more than GPA.

If they're still in undergrad, they might not have a class rank. My school doesn't calculate rank until after everyone walks.

I'm pretty sure you need to request it. I don't know about the US but I'm Canadian and had to do it for an update. How would your school automatically know that they need to send your updated transcript and to whom ?
