Might as well just withdraw at this point.

Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
You are out of state right? Receiving an admissions offer at this point, for those out of state, would make it unreasonably difficult to make plans, relocate, etc. But, if they are still your number 1 choice I would try and wait it out a little longer. At least some of us on the waitlist should hear something within the next week or so (at least I am hoping) . . . even if it is a rejection. Kathy told me in May that initial movement on the waitlist is usually rejections, as they attempt to minimize the potential candidates dramatically; unless, of course, they decide to admit the entire waitlist. Have you secured housing in Atlanta yet?

Yeah, I have. I don't really see any conceivable way I go to ASU at this point in the process.

Well, Emory is a good school, maybe even a better choice than ASU, so you can't go wrong attending there (in my opinion). I am still on Emory's waitlist as well, but am not really anticipating an offer at this point.

If I get this right you are committed to Emory but still on ASU WL? Just curious why you would consider ASU over Emory? Location perhaps. In any case, congrats on Emory.favrefire4 wrote:Yeah, I have. I don't really see any conceivable way I go to ASU at this point in the process.

Thanks, but I think I'm going to go ahead and withdraw, so as to get out of the way and not mistakenly hurt someone else's chances. The only reason I was still considering was because of location and family. But, alas, not meant to be.

Has there been any word of any rejections off the waitlist? Only reports on LSN relate to people withdrawing or being admitted.

Re: Arizona State c/o 2015
just received this email:
"Dear "Jennbear":
We appreciate your patience through the summer as a member of our waiting list. I regret that we are not yet able to offer you a seat in the Class of 2015, but there still remains a possibility that we will be able to make additional offers in the coming weeks. We sincerely hope that you continue to be enthusiastic about joining us at ASU, and we will follow up again at the first of August, or before if seats become available . . ."
I suppose this means people have been admitted off the waitlist recently. I may as well start studying for the October retake.

Just got this via e-mail from Shelli Soto through Chitra Damania:
Three more weeks of fun, it seems. Don't think this necessarily means people have been admitted lately, though. We appreciate your patience through the summer as a member of our waiting list. who in their right mind can wait until August to decide where they will be living for the next three years?

They usually send out rejections first. You must be getting an acceptance soon.

Ehh, who knows at this point honestly. Go figure, the day I call to attempt to withdraw and explain my anguish at their process is the day that wait list candidates receive this email, which I don't even get.

You don't have to put money down for rent and go to another school's orientation?Solieyu wrote:I can, since I already live in the Phoenix area.PolySuyGuy wrote:jennbear wrote:just received this email:

At worst UofA, which is a 2 hour drive away and I have family I can stay with in Tucson if needed. Most likely I'm going to ASU or retaking to try to break 170 though.
