They pull it randomly out of a hat. Ha.Liquox wrote:complete 1/17. package in the mail today.

Honestly, it doesn't seem to be very predictable. People with all sorts of numbers are getting all sorts of offers. Not sure why

work experience?
better softs?
connections?
your app got lost in a giant pile?
your app was assigned to a reader who's procrastinating?
someone spilled coffee on your app?

nice! don't get me wrong. i'm not complaining or anything. i was just surprised they gave me a scholarship. i guess unlike undergrad, law schools don't always do it on a need-base.kcf2012 wrote:as mentioned below.. seems to be sort of random as I also received a $15k per year scholarship in the mail yesterday with quite a different LSAT...Liquox wrote:complete 1/17. package in the mail today. $15k a year (172/3.5)

Did any other admitted students get the package with a keychain, post-its, and a letter today? I put W&M on the back burner, but I always love good freebies.
Good luck to everyone waiting!

Admit packet came in last night - 10K tuition equalization, 4k Graduate Fellowship, and 8k scholarship.
Total 22k per year.
Extremely blown away by this. I honestly wasn't expected that much from W&M, but now find myself wanting to negotiate for more. The more I'm offered the greedier I get.

I am getting a little frustrated with William & Mary. I am high on them, but I applied back in early November. I have solid numbers and a number of other acceptances. They are soooo slow.

Re: William and Mary c/o 2015 (2011-2012 Cycle)
Hello all. I need a reality check. I had a strangely quick turnaround on my application. Submitted 1/10, complete 1/13, acceptance letter dated 1/23. Given the speed, as well as the fact that I applied for two fellowships, and that W&M gives so much money, I thought that I might be eligible for funding, but the packet contained no scholarship/fellowship info.
The packet came loose, in a USPS priority mail envelope, i.e., as opposed to an official W&M envelope.
Is it totally wishful thinking on my part to hope that I might still receive funding? It would have been in the admit packet, right?
Thanks, and best of luck to the rest of you!

It's probably not YP. I'm 173/4.04 and was accepted 3 weeks after applying.sdphill wrote:Yield Protection?confusedlaw wrote:how do people wtih worse numbers get acepterd in a week ive been waiting 6weeks 167 3.7
URM?
Badly Rewritten Recommendation?
There could be so many factors..
I also received the keychain and notepad in my second mailing from W&M.

No, not yet. I'm waiting for my other decisions to come in before I say anything one way or the other. The first mailing was the one with scholarship, letter of congratulations, and pamphlets. The second one with the keychain and notepad included a list of fun things they do at W&M, like "bar" reviews. Every week they review a local bar.Liquox wrote:did you respond to the first mailing?captainwasabi09 wrote:
