I've been under review since 10/31. The thought of waiting until March or April for a decision is seriously stressing me out.

I'm pretty sure the way most people handle this is by just assuming we're all rejected until otherwise notified. That way it's either completely expected or a welcomes surprise. It's mildly easier to feel that way about YS than the others since they accept so few people/are unpredictable.

At this point Stanford is the only school I'm waiting on, and a right-out rejection would almost be a relief so that I can really get cracking on the question of sticker at HLS with awesome LRAP vs significant aid somewhere equally awesome but with a less-flexible LRAP. Ahhhh, first world problems...

So...I haven't been following this thread because I don't even think I have a slight chance, and didn't bother. But if we applied early November-ish and we didn't get a DLS status today, is that indicative of anything...what's the word...magnificent?

I'm wondering this too. But I think all the DLS recipients so far have been September/October submits, so maybe they just haven't gotten to us yet.

Seems like it just means you haven't been rejected at this point. Certainly better than getting the status change, but given the blackbox nature of stanford I don't think you can begin to assume anything but that.

Pretty much this. Based on last year's (epically long) thread, Stanford can hold on to applications for 6+ months so you just gotta avoid the DLS waves and hope for the call.

I'm late in joining the Stanford hopefuls (problems getting the Dean's statement made this app much later than all the others...) but just wondering- I finally got the status checker today and it already says submitted for review. Is that normal for Stanford, and does it mean I can expect to hear back sometime soon? I'm assuming rejection, but at least it would be nice to know right away...

Yup, that's normal. It doesn't mean anything - everyone's status checker switches to "submitted for review" once they're complete. Best of luck!

Might as well finally tag this thread, I've been lurking it enough. Though SLS is a huge hail mary for me. Still at "submitted for review" status here, complete 12/2, submitted mid November.

I'm wondering because I know that they give you a phone call when you get in, but I'm currently backpacking in Asia and my phone does not always have reception so it's possible if they try calling me that it wouldn't work.. so I'm wondering if it's possible to get DLS and still be in even if they can't get a hold on you on phone!
