Im too lazy to see if this has been posted up anywhere else but there is a meetup of 1L's and other professional school students Fri. night (the 25th) at The Union. The law students will be wearing identical black shirts.
Come say hi! And if anyone introduces themselves to me as an admitted student, the first round is on me!

The bar scene is dying. Vito's, 808, and other establishments have shut down due to lack of business. Scummit may be in danger of closings its doors too. I definitely preferred it when the ped mall was packed with hot and disorderly 19 year olds.chrisbru wrote:Lol me too, me too. Still a great place to introduce the non-Iowans to the IC bar sceneDocHawkeye wrote:
Ah, the Airliner. I miss the days when it didn't feel like a cheap hotel bar. It just felt like a cheap bar.
I haven't been out in IC since bar age changed from 19 to 21. How much as it changed?

On a different topic, who is going to the admitted students reception tonight?

Oh hell, in that case I'll plan show up in a non-black shirt and tell you I'm an admitted student! Canadian Club and coke please, thanks.Slimpee wrote:Im too lazy to see if this has been posted up anywhere else but there is a meetup of 1L's and other professional school students Fri. night (the 25th) at The Union. Yea it was. Maybe it was just my computer because the entire email looked weird?chrisbru wrote:Just checked mine... Nope, no typos. I thought I would get a stock one.
Anyway, I was out of the country and turned my phone on when back in the states today at 3 pm and got a full ride via email today which was nice, got my asd invite and information at 11 am the day of to add a little insult to injury. Will get the packet next week with the stip I'll post when I get it. Too bad I am already headed to Denver tomorrow morning to go to their ASD.

Easy decision. Take the full ride to Iowa. Just got home from ASD, and i am 110% sure that Iowa is the best decision I'll ever make.
On that note... I bought a house. Who needs a place to live? I need a roommate.

DU didn't do it for me so I'm waiting on CU I'm guessing I won't get a full there. They hate me and refuse to admit me. I will likely be at Iowa in the fall.chrisbru wrote:typ3 wrote:Yea it was. Not their law school but numerous family members have attended there for school so I've been in Iowa City and on the UG / Grad campuses a dozen times. Much of my family lives in Iowa and my parents have a place in the state so it's not like I'm just throwing my decision to the wind. I'll still tour the law school, but Iowa has always been my back up choice to CU.chrisbru wrote:typ3 wrote:

if you're on these forums for any extended period of time, you'll know that being in review since 3/9 is not even considered a wait. I submitted my app in early January and I'm still waiting, and i'm pretty sure I'm only halfway in linegoblue5 wrote:hey guys, ive been in review since 3/9 and still haven't received a decision. Their decision dates seem so random. Some people hear back within days of going complete, a majority receive a decision one month after going complete, while a select few go months without a decision. I just want to know my fate already! Iowa is a cruel mistress.

It took over a month for me to hear back. When I did hear back things moved pretty quick. Took 2 days from acceptance to get my scholarship. Most people have to wait 2 weeks or more. Probably depends on the candidate I would think. But they are definitely swamped this time of the year.Berdman wrote:Their decision dates seem so random. Well with your numbers, I'm surprised they made you wait that long. I'm expecting a waitlist at this point. Already have an excellent loci drafted. Just frustrating being complete since January 3rd.

Officially went under review January 10th. I'm hoping they just are deciding between full tuition and full tuition plus stipend (/sarcasm)

Finally got my mail after not being at my residence for over a week. My scholarship appears to have no 1/3 stipulation unless this is on another piece of paper or I'm having a reading comp fail? All I see is the RA/Journal requirement 2nd / 3rd year.chrisbru wrote:typ3 wrote:Yea it was. Maybe it was just my computer because the entire email looked weird?chrisbru wrote:Just checked mine...
