So 4/4 of the rejections yesterday that we know of (three from LSN, one more here) were 171's, and 2/4 were above-median GPA. If we see more of this, it may suggest that the GPA median is not shaping up to be an issue for them. Idk why else they wouldn't at least wait list a 171/3.88+ (barring other issues w/ the app).

As someone with a lower GPA and a high LSAT, I so badly wish this was true, but my lack of even a JS1 seems to indicates otherwise (yes, I know this is anecdotal but just let me be melodramatic in my moment of grief :( )

I feel like this cycle hasn't been as "easy" as it has been made out to be. If anything, It's only been wildly unpredictable. I wonder if this is the the effect of the increase of 170+ scorers this year.

There's been an increase of 170+ scorers? I thought there has been a decrease recently?

Decrease in 169- scores, but more 170+.

That increase is still not very many ppl. Because so few ppl score that high, a 6% jump isn't that many actual test takers.

Mhmm. I don't know what the actual numbers are, but a 6% increase of, say, a thousand, is still just an increase of 60 people.

I read the numbers wrong at first. After posting that I realized that its a percentage increase from the absolute number of 175+ last year, so the number did increase :|

Yeah, you are right. I forgot how few people scored above 175. But still, for those K-JDs with nothing extraordinary but good stats, the 60 people could potentially take away their spots in the top law schools.

there aren't even a thousand that score 175+

If I recall correctly it was like 330 of them last year and 350 of them this year.

In December Spivey tweeted "170–174 1,173 ... 175–180 353."
That gives us 20 more 175-180 and 13 more 170-174.

And some of those people probably have GPAs that put them out at HLS.

Just joined TLS, figured I'd post my stats. Got admitted during the big Thursday wave a week and a half ago. 170 LSAT, 3.92 GPA, URM. This forum's neuroticism is contagious. Also is there still time to sign up for next week's ASW?

edit: Late January JS1. No idea when I went complete.

So Feb scores are out. Should be interesting to see how things shape up from here. It seems like a large majority of those who took the Feb test are applying next cycle, which I'm glad to see.
