Logging in for the first time. Did not put any thought into Vandy but they waived my fee a few weeks ago and the more I read about them, the more I want to get in. Not sure about my chances (3.3/163 URM-mexican/ no interview ) so I scheduled a visit for the first week of Feb. Really looking forward to the road trip and hope this compensates for me failing to schedule an interview, even though I was told less than half of admitted students interviewed. At this point I would just be happy with a chance to slug it out on the waitlist.

You know, nothing stops you from calling them now and requesting to be interviewed. You can do it after you have gone complete, and they will hold off on a decision until your interview is complete.

I would try calling. The admissions people are all very helpful and friendly.

I already asked and they said it was too late in the cycle to be interviewed....hence my visit. Atleast if I dont get in Ill have a fun time in Nashville.

DR 1/12 and nothing in the mail here in Florida. Vanderbilt seems to be particularly brutal for splitters this year.

I've gotten 9 acceptances, 0 WLs, and 0 rejections so far, so I'm due for a slap in the face I suppose.

so what were yalls scores? is a 171/3.7 considered a splitter or reverse splitter or whatever? i sent my app 12/13 and i just found out my decision got mailed 1/12..have any of yall received yalls letters yet? and also, what are cycles and why is everyone saying that this one is gonna be bad news?

Typically, a splitter means you have one LSAT/GPA score that's below the median and one that's above. You don't have that problem. The application cycle is what we're going through right now as we wait for all the schools to get back to us. It's going to be a tough one because of the large amount of applications that have gone in due to the horrible economy.

And if you want to know people's stats either look in their profiles, ask them, or go back a few pages in the thread...they should appear, I guess.

After 10 days if you haven't received it they'll send a PDF of the decision letter via email. On the 22nd, if you're still not at school and have no roommates or anything who can check you mail, just tell them that you're at the mailing address and haven't gotten the letter?

Hopefully someone gets something today. If the decisions were mailed on the 12th, and no one has received anything, then I guess it can't be good news. As Georgetown proved to us, they have little consideration or respect for those who they don't have any need to woo. Oh well. At least it will be nice to have closure after the waiting.
