I don't think anyone knows. There was a theory based on last year's thread that it would happen at the end of last week. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
If we use the ED round as a basis for speculation, we could see another batch starting tomorrow. The first (ED) round started with status checker updates on the last Tuesday of the month. Tomorrow is the last Tuesday of this month... so if they are planning to do a round of decisions per month it would seem logical that status checker updates would start tomorrow. There are tons of reasons that my guess could be wrong, the biggest is that they have no "deadline" for the end of Feb (as they did in Jan for ED people).

Has anyone been notified that they're a finalist for the Sumners yet?

Its really close for me, between UH and SMU.
For those that would like to know, UH has a tuition increase of 16.5% according to what i am reading, which will put its FT tuition at around 24.5k.

That is a bummer. I was hoping to negotiate a little more money from them. That could change things for me.

same for me, an extra 5-7k a year would make it much more competitive with my other offers. I'm planning to put down at least 2-3 seat deposits at various places, hopefully can negotiate something then, SMU is pretty much my top choice I think...

Because the seat deposit is written contract, are there any further complications than just losing your deposit if you choose not to attend a school? Especially if it is because you decide to attend another school?

It's hard to believe some of you with your stellar numbers are only getting a half to nearly three-fourths tuition. I remember from last year, however, several posters receiving a bigger scholarship after their initial offer.

It depends on the school, most of them you just lose your deposit but I do think some are binding. Certainly will research more into it before I put down the deposits but I heard stories of people being able to negotiate once they have put deposits down, the schools can also see where you put deposits down as well.

I don't know, but when the deposits are in the school can see if there is any scholly money left and may bump some peoples scholarships...I certainly wouldn't rule it out.

If the last few years are any indication, SOME will get better offers later. I would think a lot of the money offered to the higher numbers that don't matriculate trickles down like anywhere--it also makes me think SMU assumes those with the great numbers WON'T attend SMU.
I'm bummed about the "no negotiation" policy. I have a full ride at a peer school. Guess that amounts to a hill of beans.

finally got my scholarship packet in the mail. $45,900 total package. it's basically what i expected but i'm a little disappointed that i couldn't increase my lsat score by 1 point in order to get to their median. i probably could have garnered another 30k if i had done so. but i'm okay with what i got.

I went "decision rendered" as of today. How long should it be before I receive my acceptance or denial? And then scholarship if I get in? 164/ 4.0.
Btw...also got into uni of houston today.

Should be a few days for the letter/package to arrive (which, by your stats, is most likely an acceptance). Scholly info came about 3 weeks later...

Thanks! Smu is an expensive school so any additional scholarship would be fantastic.

I got $22K a year, and your GPA is much better than mine with the same LSAT.
