Do they send these emails to all accepted people or just the ones that they intend to give money to?

I'm pretty sure to all accepted people because the email says "we urge all applicants, except those who have very significant personal and/or family resources, to apply on the basis of both merit and financial need so that they can be considered for the full range of available scholarships."

But still excited it's happening! :)

Thanks!

Also, got another email from Duke, they said my packet would be delayed because of the holidays. Their office is closed the 23rd until the 2nd.

Re: CSS Profile

What numbers are you guys using for parental contribution?

My parents have been extremely generous throughout this process and are off the record offering and amount of money I know would put a strain on them. I also have the number I would like to impose on my parents ($0) and the FAFSA EFC from when my brother and I were both dependent student in ug (20k each,he still is a dependent student so right now FAFSA is allocating 0 to me and 40 to him)

I'm tempted to just put zero but I don't want to be dishonest about it. I also don't want to put a number and then realize no one puts any money there and I screwed myself out of aid.

So let's hear it, it doesn't need to be exact numbers, but are you guys using the full amount offered, zero (if it's not the amount offered) or something in between

Put how much they can contribute without it becoming a burden.

First non-PT was admitted 12/12 last year IIRC. Maybe this is the week it begins?

I'd like to thank Duke law school for requesting my fall semester grades and thus providing the only motivation I have right now to study/write for my finals.

But seriously, I'm gonna be ticked if I put in all this work in to get another 4.0 semester and Duke is like "yo that was just a nicer way to yield protect you, can't you take a hint?"

i think there have been a few one-offs (2-3 people in total from TLS), but overall there has not been a wave of admits for non-pt from what I've seen and that's what I am hoping for

Don't mind me - just sitting on a UR2 as of 1pm Day 10 of PT. Guess I am not getting a decision today

Or I could obsessively refresh the status tracker...

CSS question: my parents are divorced and I'm four years out of undergrad, not receiving financial support from either parent. When registering, CSS forces you to select which parent "provided more financial support to you in the last 12 months" in order to determine who your custodial parent is. I was thinking about selecting the parent that I lived with back in high school/college summers since it's all I have to go on. Anyone have any thoughts/similar experience?

Should we have the FAFSA completed prior to our scholarship interviews?

On CSS, when it says enter parents' wages, salaries, etc, received... is it assuming gross or net?

That language implied to me it was asking for line 07 on their 1040

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
