Or maybe they didn't need to know if you were still interested because you sent two LOCI. Relax... Maybe the people who are no longer interested will decline and free up space.
Yeah that occurred to me after I typed that. I'm just a nervous mess these days with all of this application stuff and UT remains my top choice so I'm a little reactive. My apologies if I came across as whiny.

Not a problem. I get it-- I'm similarly anxious.

Thanks! I applied right before Thanksgiving, went complete 12/1, and was apparently admitted by status checker on Friday. I didn't find out until I got the email this morning.

+1. Pretty surprised since the wait-list email I received back in January said to respond if we wanted to remain in consideration... I never responded.
So they wait-listed you, you didn't respond confirming you wanted to be on the wait-list, and then before deposits they admitted you? Did I read that right?

Wouldnt surprise me. Last year Chicago sent me an email about being waitlisted, and how I needed to respond to stay on their waitlist. I never responded, yet I kept getting waitlist emails about how I was still under consideration.

Yes, that is correct. The exact language in the email is "If you wish to accept our waitlist offer, please respond to this email within the next two weeks. If we do not hear from you by that time, we will remove your application from further consideration." I never responded, thinking they would remove me from consideration. Therefore very surprised to get the admitted email this morning.

I was also admitted off the waitlist this morning. I am not sure if I ever responded or not but I wasn't even thinking about the school anymore. If was basically just a weird email saying "here is our admitted students website"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm starting to feel like my LOCIs and application in general went straight in the trash. I'm starting to feel offended and pissed rather than sad. I think it might be time for another email to them.

You're seriously going to ask that after telling everyone on here that you were so not interested in attending that you didn't even respond to the waitlist email? Move on please.

Maybe Anderson doesn't have full GI Bill benefits to fall back on. There are several schools that I have been waitlisted at that I would love to attend and know that I simply wouldn't if the money wasnt there.

Dont begrudge them their successes.

For someone to openly admit that they never bothered to respond to the waitlist email, brag on here about getting admitted, and then ask about scholarships is insulting to those of us really hoping to get in. Some of us cared enough about attending to let UT know.

I'm trying to remember any post you've ever put up that wasn't laced with negativity and arrogant snark. I don't remember asking for your opinion anyway.

It was an honest question. I am considering several schools in the south and scholarship is an important factor in my decision because I want PI work. I didn't respond because I didn't expect anyone would get much money off the waitlist. However, if they did give me some I would seriously consider it.

You and I must have a different definition for bragging. On the other hand I can see how someone asking about scholarships could upset you since you HAVE SCHOOL COMPLETELY PAID FOR.. oh wait..? Finally, the point I am actually trying to make, TO HELP YOU, is that the doors have not closed yet. If you really want to go so bad then perhaps sit on your posts for an extra ten seconds before you hit submit. You have absolutely 0 anonymity and basically just negated any LOCIs you sent by claiming the only reason you want to go is because your husband likes Austin.

TLDR: Chill

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
