Yeah that occurred to me after I typed that. I'm just a nervous mess these days with all of this application stuff and UT remains my top choice so I'm a little reactive. My apologies if I came across as whiny.yellowyak46 wrote:Or maybe they didn't need to know if you were still interested because you sent two LOCI. Relax... Thanks! I applied right before Thanksgiving, went complete 12/1, and was apparently admitted by status checker on Friday. I didn't find out until I got the email this morning.WaitWaitDontSay wrote:Congrats!HawkeyeVodka34 wrote:In via email! Finally!

So they wait-listed you, you didn't respond confirming you wanted to be on the wait-list, and then before deposits they admitted you? Did I read that right?thelincolnlawyer wrote:+1. Pretty surprised since the wait-list email I received back in January said to respond if we wanted to remain in consideration... I never responded.HawkeyeVodka34 wrote:In via email! Finally!

Wouldnt surprise me. Last year Chicago sent me an email about being waitlisted, and how I needed to respond to stay on their waitlist. I never responded, yet I kept getting waitlist emails about how I was still under consideration.poptart123 wrote:So they wait-listed you, you didn't respond confirming you wanted to be on the wait-list, and then before deposits they admitted you? thelincolnlawyer wrote:Yes, that is correct. The exact language in the email is "If you wish to accept our waitlist offer, please respond to this email within the next two weeks. If we do not hear from you by that time, we will remove your application from further consideration." I never responded, thinking they would remove me from consideration. Therefore very surprised to get the admitted email this morning.poptart123 wrote:So they wait-listed you, you didn't respond confirming you wanted to be on the wait-list, and then before deposits they admitted you? I was also admitted off the waitlist this morning. I am not sure if I ever responded or not but I wasn't even thinking about the school anymore. If was basically just a weird email saying "here is our admitted students website"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm starting to feel like my LOCIs and application in general went straight in the trash. I'm starting to feel offended and pissed rather than sad. I think it might be time for another email to them.janderson821 wrote:thelincolnlawyer wrote:Yes, that is correct. Is there any chance of getting a scholarship at this point?

You're seriously going to ask that after telling everyone on here that you were so not interested in attending that you didn't even respond to the waitlist email? Move on please.janderson821 wrote:Is there any chance of getting a scholarship at this point?

Maybe Anderson doesn't have full GI Bill benefits to fall back on. There are several schools that I have been waitlisted at that I would love to attend and know that I simply wouldn't if the money wasnt there.Navyhornguy wrote:You're seriously going to ask that after telling everyone on here that you were so not interested in attending that you didn't even respond to the waitlist email? ^ Thats the way I see it also. Not to mention there can only be so many gay 31 year old Navy band member applicants and your "zeal" is well documented on here.lymenheimer wrote:Also, quit bitching and just retake ffs.doobleykah wrote:Maybe Anderson doesn't have full GI Bill benefits to fall back on. For someone to openly admit that they never bothered to respond to the waitlist email, brag on here about getting admitted, and then ask about scholarships is insulting to those of us really hoping to get in. Some of us cared enough about attending to let UT know.doobleykah wrote:Maybe Anderson doesn't have full GI Bill benefits to fall back on. I'm trying to remember any post you've ever put up that wasn't laced with negativity and arrogant snark. I don't remember asking for your opinion anyway.lymenheimer wrote:Also, quit bitching and just retake ffs.doobleykah wrote:Maybe Anderson doesn't have full GI Bill benefits to fall back on. Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It was an honest question. I am considering several schools in the south and scholarship is an important factor in my decision because I want PI work. I didn't respond because I didn't expect anyone would get much money off the waitlist. However, if they did give me some I would seriously consider it.Navyhornguy wrote:For someone to openly admit that they never bothered to respond to the waitlist email, brag on here about getting admitted, and then ask about scholarships is insulting to those of us really hoping to get in. Re: University of Texas c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
You and I must have a different definition for bragging. On the other hand I can see how someone asking about scholarships could upset you since you HAVE SCHOOL COMPLETELY PAID FOR.. oh wait..? Finally, the point I am actually trying to make, TO HELP YOU, is that the doors have not closed yet. If you really want to go so bad then perhaps sit on your posts for an extra ten seconds before you hit submit. You have absolutely 0 anonymity and basically just negated any LOCIs you sent by claiming the only reason you want to go is because your husband likes Austin.Navyhornguy wrote:For someone to openly admit that they never bothered to respond to the waitlist email, brag on here about getting admitted, and then ask about scholarships is insulting to those of us really hoping to get in.
