Here's to hoping we all get some good news soon. I wonder if it'd be prudent to call and ask but my status is Complete and it says 'now under review by committee' so I feel like there's probably nothing to do but waitLadyProspero wrote:Thirded. Reverse splitter though. Been complete since 11/30.bostonmaura wrote:hhollow wrote:Been complete since 10/5 with no interview requests. At/above medians. Feeling a bit forgotten at this point
I am in the same boat - applied in early November, haven't heard about an interview yet.

I read through all the comments about transfers and scholarships at the beginning of this, and I wanted to ask this hypothetical:
WUSTL for free vs. T6 at sticker - is one obviously better?

Any middle ground? Michigan at 15-20 year would be better than either of those imo.RZ5646 wrote:I'd love to hear from other current/past students too.PourMeTea wrote:Yes, although transferring to a T14 from median is very much a possibility, and WUSTL's massive scholarships are nothing to scoff at.regulartime wrote:As transferring is iffy, would you suggest someone with a lower T14 acceptance to just avoid WUSTL then if Big Law was the goal?PourMeTea wrote:

Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
It was just a hypothetical. I was surprised by the people saying to go to a higher ranked school or go to WUSTL just to transfer, since TLS conventional wisdom is usually "take the money and run."guybourdin wrote:Any middle ground? But you just take the 1L money only. You can run but how could you afford T14 for 2L or 3L?RZ5646 wrote:It was just a hypothetical. First time poster, just want to add to the knowledge out here.
Probably not a typical applicant, in last week with <3 GPA & 169 LSAT. Medical performance considerations for GPA & work experience as a teacher. Canadian.
Got offered Scholar in Law Award for $10 000 per year.
Would this be a good place to post a question about scholarship negotiations?
Good luck to everyone!

Thanks! Congrats to you too. I got accepted 2 weeks ago, but I think the waiting time differs for people. Maybe you'll get a full scholly? gl!calilaw33 wrote:Congrats on $$$. When were you accepted? Did you all specifically request scholarship info after receiving your acceptance or was there a communication from admissions that scholarship info was forthcoming? I got an email acceptance but no mention of any scholarship.greenapples wrote:Thanks! Congrats to you too. I got accepted 2 weeks ago, but I think the waiting time differs for people. No separate communication until the scholarship offer, for me. I just knew it would be a week or two based on others posting their timelines here, and I got my admission on a Monday and my scholarship that Thursday.EliCoe wrote:Did you all specifically request scholarship info after receiving your acceptance or was there a communication from admissions that scholarship info was forthcoming? Current 2L here. I don't think one is obviously better, especially without more context. I could make an argument for either one.RZ5646 wrote:I'd love to hear from other current/past students too.PourMeTea wrote:Yes, although transferring to a T14 from median is very much a possibility, and WUSTL's massive scholarships are nothing to scoff at.regulartime wrote:As transferring is iffy, would you suggest someone with a lower T14 acceptance to just avoid WUSTL then if Big Law was the goal?PourMeTea wrote:

Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
Yeah I would definitely negotiate that. I assume you applied to a few schools, I'd wait to have a few good other offers in hand and make it clear to wash u that you are seriously considering one of your other options. I legitimately like this school, but if I only got 10k with a 169 I wouldn't go unless they brought that number up. Feel free to pm me if you have more specific questions, I negotiated last year and that's why I ended up enrolling.Archibald wrote:First time poster, just want to add to the knowledge out here.

Exactly correct, it depends so much on individual circumstances and career goals. With absolutely zero context, either one could be a great decision or a not so great decision.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2019 Applicants
1l Here. I have friends with similar numbers, although a few points higher on the LSAT, and I think they were able to get like 30 or 40k a year. I'm not saying it will happen, but they do tend to raise scholarships closer to the add/drop deadlines. I think people say it's because schools are trying to keep their medians and so they want to make sure they lock them in.Archibald wrote:First time poster, just want to add to the knowledge out here.

As for how to negotiate I'm sure there are threads on it, but one person I know wasn't actively negotiating because they were trying to get money at another school. WashU kept raising the offer until they felt it would be stupid to go to the other school.
Good luck and congrats on getting accepted and on your LSAT score!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
