Right. I edited my previous post, but I'll repost here for ease of access.Generally wrote:No but I wasn't accepted, I was invited to a place on the priority reserve list, whatever that is.lymenheimer wrote:Yours didn't take a full 10 days, did it?Generally wrote:Diedoublehoohopeful wrote:One person has been put on priority reserve.lymenheimer wrote:I'm assuming that by applying to Duke Law you are smart enough (or have been following this thread enough) to know that the 10-day deadline is for PT applicants. Appreciating your intelligence and assuming that you are indeed a PT applicant, I would try to not stress. It could come any time and butt right up to the turn of day 11, so expect it then and anything earlier will be a treat. My thought process was that a 10-day decision gave room for optimism because it means there was some deliberation on your behalf to be accepted. If not, they likely would have waitlisted/held over your application sooner. This also could mean that you are borderline, but I like to think on the happier side. It's worked for both myself and Jimmy, so technically, the PT 10 day decision, as reported in this thread, is at 100% acceptance (unless I missed someone, in which case I apologize).blue2016 wrote:Coming out of the lurker shadows. Been UR2 since 9/10, and today is day 9. Starting to get pretty nervous.
Perhaps I should have said "10th day decision"

I'd never forget about you. I legit have been banking on going to the same law school as some of you people (yourself included).Generally wrote: No but I wasn't accepted, I was invited to a place on the priority reserve list, whatever that is.

That sounds like a good plan. I'm hoping they do in person interviews for scholly stuff too. I can see the benefit of Skype, but I'd much rather make a trip out of it.Generally wrote: Duke told me I could do an optional interview, so I think I will try to drive down there soon and see how that goes. I haven't given up on them yet.

Anyone else wonder why Senator is a salutation option for Next of Kin/Emergency Contact, but Governor isn't? (Not that I'm related to a governor...)

What I meant to ask was if anyone else had wondered why Senator is a salutation option, but President isn'turbanist11 wrote:No, no I hadn't. Thanks for the reassurance (you too urbanist)lymenheimer wrote:Well that is very interesting. I don't have any insight for you, but I would say that (based on other comments in other threads) Duke PT is one of the best application perks available. It's a non-binding Early Action decision with a fee-waiver and 10-day turn around. Although, some other areas of Duke's admissions are a bit different than other schools as well (tuition assistance awards, tuition deposit instead of seat deposit, etc.). But I don't think you can go wrong, even with them bumping you over if you had no intention of applying PT.180kickflip wrote:

Well, there are a bunch more Senators (state and Federal) than there are Governors.salander wrote:Anyone else wonder why Senator is a salutation option for Next of Kin/Emergency Contact, but Governor isn't? (Not that I'm related to a governor...)

I feel like I missed the quick-UVA turnaround by a matter of days.slippin_jimmy wrote:Yep. I think we're entering a new phase of the wildcard-y process now with decisions, especially as admissions officers get busy with fall recruitment commitments e.g. fairs, etc.urbanist11 wrote:At least Duke is predictable (10 day turnaround). UVA is a wildcard.

I feel much more confident about Duke than UVA.
