Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I'm sure others have noticed this and, correct me if I'm wrong, but two years ago, first decisions were released on Dec 2 (Monday) and last year they were released on Dec 1 (Monday). My money is on Nov 30 which is, in a way, the "first Monday" of Dec. Or maybe they'll be really nice and get some decisions out before Thanksgiving. Just trying to be optimistic. I can't wait any longer!

2009-2010 cycle saw first decisions on Tuesday 12/1.cbbinnyc wrote:I'm sure others have noticed this and, correct me if I'm wrong, but two years ago, first decisions were released on Dec 2 (Monday) and last year they were released on Dec 1 (Monday). I considered the Monday option, but considering there's almost zero history of decisions in November, 12/1 felt safer.
Either one of those days would be great though!

Lots of people last year went from UR1 to DLS in the first wave, so it's not a bad sign. For all we know, going UR2 is a bad sign.lymenheimer wrote:Still UR1 on the date that I went complete. With my numbers I wouldn't be surprised by an instareject. But there's no knowing until we know!benwyatt wrote:Lots of people last year went from UR1 to DLS in the first wave, so it's not a bad sign. Then you're probably fine. Seems like PS only matters if your numbers put you in the "consider" category (splitter, reverse splitter, numbers a little below median, etc) or if it is truly awful/racist/not in English.dumdeedum wrote:My numbers are good, though.

I'm a long time lurker here at TLS. Don't mistake the users here for typical law school applicants. Comparing yourself to people here isn't a worthwhile exercise.dumdeedum wrote:I submitted and got one date update. I'm not too hopeful that just one under review date is a good thing. I thought my PS was amazing when I submitted it, but since then I've been helping others with theirs and realized my idea was just embarrassingly unoriginal. Plus, lurking around the forums I'm feeling like almost everyone applying here is amazing, so just being kinda cool isn't going to cut it.
My numbers are good, though.

Heh, well I'm sure they read it, I just imagine it only swayed their decision if your numbers put your candidacy in question. But it was still worthwhile to spend all that time to get it right. No point taking any chances.

What do you guys think the chances are we're going to have to wait for 12/7? Anyone know when the decisions went out in the 2012-2013 cycle?

Do you know if these were for ED applicants only, or were there some RD people who got a decision that day too?cbbinnyc wrote:First decision dates below.
