Does anybody have a sense of whether these interviews are considered for merit aid or to what extent they would factor into named scholarships? Just wondering what else they might be trying to feel from these conversations.

I have read a few places on this thread, although I cannot remember where, is that merit aid is almost entirely based on numbers.flomotion wrote:Does anybody have a sense of whether these interviews are considered for merit aid or to what extent they would factor into named scholarships? I actually felt that my interviewer was really interested in my application, and they talked about particular aspects about my personal statement and gave positive feedback to me.
Butttttt, I haven't been admitted yet (submitted late November), so I don't know if that actually means anything.

Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
With the benefit of hindsight I think my interview was formal and structured; no guidance at all on how I was performing, and only 1 or 2 questions were tailored to me specifically. I didn't crash and burn there but I wasn't exactly in my prime, interviewing at 5am (and I got in)
So I wouldn't be too worried about lack of response or enthusiasm during the interview

Contrary to others saying about how structured their interviews were... I spent at least 10 minutes of mine chatting with the interviewer about chocolates.... So YMMV it doesnt really mean anything either way.

The Ruby is based on a strange and mysterious alchemical formula that includes the contents of certain people's breakfasts; it is not strictly numbers based. No idea how the rest work.Auxilio wrote:I have read a few places on this thread, although I cannot remember where, is that merit aid is almost entirely based on numbers.flomotion wrote:Does anybody have a sense of whether these interviews are considered for merit aid or to what extent they would factor into named scholarships? Just interviewed and my interviewer was seriously DELIGHTFUL. I kind of want to be best friends with her.

Admitted in the wave earlier this week! LSAT at median, GPA above 75th, interviewed in early December, and UR4 late December. My interview matched others' description: I didn't think it went great but mainly the interviewer was poker-faced.
Congrats to everyone else who heard back and wishing the rest of you the best!

Re: Chicago Law School c/o 2018 Applicants
Hello guys,
I submitted my application on 11/25 and went UR1 on 12/9, and after that there is no movement at all.
I had an updated December LSAT score.
Should I just wait or email them?
My Gpa is >75%, LSAT between 25-50
Anybody else in a similar situation?

I emailed them when I got my updated GPA. It can't hurt

Hey
I emailed them when I got my updated LSAT.
I mean that was about 20 days ago, and there has been no movement since then.
Is this normal?

If you already e-mailed them when you got the updated LSAT, I don't think another e-mail is a good idea. In the grand scheme of the cycle, 20 days isn't that much. I'm probably the worst person to give this advice lol, but you just have to be patient.

Does anybody know what the average time between the interview and a decision is? Thanks.

For those who updated their GPA, how did you do it? Did you just send an updated transcript to LSAC and send them an e-mail indicating that you were updating your transcript? Is it even worth it if you're at UR4 at this point?

When I sent in an updated transcript I sent an email to every school, except for Chicago, with an unofficial transcript attached and an explanation that my official transcript had been sent to LSAC. Chicago seemed very opposed to any sort of updates.Chicago Law FAQ wrote: What if I need to update my application?
The Admissions Committee strongly prefers that you submit all necessary information with your initial application. If it is necessary to update your application, you must email your updated information to the Admissions Office at admissions@law.uchicago.edu. Electronic updates will be uploaded to your file in our electronic database (but you will not see this update on your status checker). If you are sending an updated transcript or an additional letter of recommendation, you must send them through CAS. After your online status checker indicates that your application is "complete", you may no longer submit any additional materials for your file unless (1) the Admissions Committee requests additional materials, (2) your update pertains to the Character and Fitness sections of the application, or (3) your update is necessary to ensure that the information you have provided in your application remains truthful and complete.
Please do not send any paper materials or updates to the Admissions Office; we will not retain or review them.
