Re: Michigan Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Kind of curious about this, as well. I'm at or above the 75% mark for both GPA and LSAT at Mich. Still haven't heard anything from the from Berk, Mich, or UVA. Frustrating as hell because they're all among my top choices. I don't think my numbers are high enough to justify YP.
I thought I was an interesting candidate with good statements, compelling recommendations, and strong soft factors (including Rhodes/ Fulbright/ Marshall/ Truman level fellowship). But now I'm second guessing myself. I don't know whats up.

I wouldn't worry about it. I think you're in a good position.Iamdman92 wrote:Kind of curious about this, as well. I'm at or above the 75% mark for both GPA and LSAT at Mich. My numbers are lower than yours, but I also have a FTMR-level fellowship.
I applied in early *September* and only heard back on Monday.

I saw that Darrow invites had gone out, switched over to my inbox and saw I had an email with the subject line "Potential Scholarship Offer"...from the University of Akron.
Does anyone know if they only release this one wave of Darrow invites?

Looking at last years applicants and c/o 2017 thread, it appears there are multiple waves. Glad I don't have to give up hope just yet!Four Winds wrote:I saw that Darrow invites had gone out, switched over to my inbox and saw I had an email with the subject line "Potential Scholarship Offer"...from the University of Akron.![]()

Re: Michigan Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015)
Apologies if these questions are inappropriate for this thread, which seems to be more about acceptances and such. My questions are school specific, though, so I thought they made sense here.
Is it worth writing one of Michigan Law's optional essays at the expense of getting the app in a week or so earlier? I have not been writing any "Why X Law School" essays or diversity statements as they don't really apply to me, but Michigan offers so many additional essay options, that it would seem to me that they really expect individuals interested in attending to write at least one. I have a 170/3.66 and my application is otherwise ready to go, so I am hopeful I would be accepted either way, but I don't want to leave anything to chance if possible.
As an additional note, I took the December LSAT and am obviously still waiting on that score. I am hopeful that I grabbed a extra couple points as my PT average was 175, and I felt good during the test. I am waiting to apply to the schools above Michigan until I get the December LSAT score back - should I just wait to apply to Michigan too?
Thanks!

Is Michigan known to YP? I'm above both 75ths (albeit only slightly on GPA) and live in Michigan (though not a resident), but I haven't heard anything since going complete mid-October.
I even wrote an essay.
