This happened to me as well. Any significance? Also, how soon after complete are you guys getting JS1s. A few days? A week?anubis1911 wrote:The online status check says that my file went complete on 11/1, but I got an email yesterday saying it is complete as of 11/7. Which is correct

Mine was complete on 9/30 but I received the completion email on 10/10, still managed to get js1 so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I think the status checker offers the most up to date information while there tends to be a bit of a delay with Harvard's email responses.CitrusFruit wrote:This happened to me as well. There was a nearly four-week gap between going complete and receiving JS1 for one person ITT.CitrusFruit wrote:This happened to me as well. Any significance? Mine was over a month. I dunno if this means I am the ideal waitlist or what but I'm just happy to have gotten it.iamgeorgebush wrote:There was a nearly four-week gap between going complete and receiving JS1 for one person ITT.CitrusFruit wrote:This happened to me as well. Anyone know what percentage of people who apply get JS1s and what percentage of those who get JS1s are admitted?

I believe last year it was ~800 offers / 1200 JS1s but I could definitely be wrong.iamgeorgebush wrote:Anyone know what percentage of people who apply get JS1s and what percentage of those who get JS1s are admitted?

Great, thanks. About 2/3 come out of the JS1 with an offer, then.

Anyone that has had a JS1, does JS respond well to flattery at the very beginning? or should I start with a cheesey one-liner joke

I think shitty legal puns is definitely the way to go.Happy Gilmore wrote:Anyone that has had a JS1, does JS respond well to flattery at the very beginning? or should I start with a cheesey one-liner joke
Example: All of this waiting is going to turn me into a Habeus Corpus!!!
I don't see how they couldn't give you an offer.

Oh, I was thinking I was going to go with a popular culture joke to show I was hip with it. Why does snoop dog carry an umbrella?? FODRIZZLE BITCH. But yeah maybe Legal pun might be a better routejingosaur wrote:I think shitty legal puns is definitely the way to go.Happy Gilmore wrote:Anyone that has had a JS1, does JS respond well to flattery at the very beginning? or should I start with a cheesey one-liner joke

You need to think bigger my friend. Why choose one when you can do both at the same time? Nothing says "Harvard Law material" like a punny pick up line,Happy Gilmore wrote:Anyone that has had a JS1, does JS respond well to flattery at the very beginning? or should I start with a cheesey one-liner joke
I also don't think my last post went through (I'm living with limited internet) so I'm checking in for what might be the second time.
I am a non-urm with scores and grades at or slightly below the median and strong softs. I recently had my JS1 and I enjoy a nice Pinot Noir. Submitted early October complete a little over a week later.
Best of luck to all of you! Hope we're hanging out in Cambridge soon!

Re: Harvard, C/O 2017, Applicants Thread (2013-2014)
I think starting out on a political note would also work. Slandering Obama is probably TCR. Ted Cruz is obviously the star HLS alum now and you would improve your chances of admissions if you let the adcoms know you're aware of this fact.
Also, any douchey quote from Suits will probably help. I don't watch, but my understanding is that the firm only recruits from Harvard Law so that would be a great reason why you prefer Harvard over Yale and Stanford.
On a more serious note, I hope everyone is doing well. I'm still waiting on my JS1, but I submitted about a week ago so I'm not in panic mode yet. I also just survived four waves of Wharton interview invites before I got my invite, so I'm used to the paranoia at this point.

So since H is closed today there probably won't be any JS1 invites going out, right?

I was having internet trouble and had to reschedule my JS1. I scheduled a new appointment online, and cancelled my old one (oh, and fun fact: you can have two appointments scheduled; anyone have the balls to try squeaking in a second JS1?). Do you think I should call and confirm the change by phone? I hope they don't try calling me at the arranged time and think I flaked!

Pretty sure this has been asked before, but I can't find any definitive answer on this issue so I will ask here. For K-JD applicants whose GPA has not been finalized, would their admission follow the same time line as those applicants with a final GPA or does Harvard generally prefer to review their fall-term senior year grades before admitting said candidates.

Jaesonko, checking in.
Do people generally submit all of their apps at once, immediately after they finish their PS?
