I'm starting to hate my chances here, if they haven't even looked at my app for nearly 3 months at complete my prospects of getting in are probably minimal...

Time to start seriously considering other schools.

anyone consider USC and UCLA to be "similarly ranked"? i have no money from UCLA but do any of you think it's possible to get some with a 90K USC scholly?

I can't imagine two schools that are more "similarly ranked." The very definition of peers.

How pissed do you guys think UCLA is at USC for all the money USC is throwing around? I don't see any way UCLA can keep up.

wow. $90,000 scholly. unexpected given my numbers...166/3.83 non-urm. congrats to all others and here's hopin a bunch of you hear about an acceptance soon!

Whaaat. We have practically the same stats except for a 0.01 difference in our GPAs and I was offered $75k.

Also, congrats to the new batch of $120k scholarship recipients!

I suppose you can ask but a lot of other that got 120 might go to other schools and you can get it instead and plus the Rothman is still out there.

another month is fine, you dont have to make the decision that early. You might get a bump but I'm not too sure, your best bet is to go after the Rothman.

well she is below the GPA median so 105 is still a ton for someone like that. most people won't come close to 105.

Anyone think USC/UCLA would negotiate with me given the following:

USC offered 90k in merit, with no chance for need aid

UCLA offered 75k in merit, with 10k in need for next year (this will continue each year assuming similar finances)

Offers seem too similar to me, I think I may be SOL unless Vandy steps up and gives more (Texas and Minn have also hopped on that 90k train for me, so I feel like I have 0 leverage at any of these places).

complete 12/7....no movement since.

This is true. 120k seems to be the max.

And re: my stats, .03 below GPA median assuming their posted stats are true. And 6 points above their LSAT 75th. THAT is why I think I should be closer to 120k. That's a big boost for them.

Not really in the sense that that's not how medians and percentiles work. My understanding is that it doesn't make a huge difference whether you're 2+ points above their 75th or 6 points above it because they're not going to have enough applicants with your score to realistically have a chance of pushing their 75th up that high anyways. I mean they may end up be willing to pay for your LSAT, but it's not really doing anything more for their stats than someone else who is at GPA median and maybe just above LSAT 75th by 2 points.

It happens. Can't be a great sign, but I don't think it means they hate you. I'm still at complete, FYI (11/7).
