Just curious from those fortunate souls who have already been accepted, what's the area code for the acceptance phone call? And are most people in via phone call or is email / snail mail more common?

Don't ask for pity or they'll call you to give your ding personally.dproduct wrote:Everyday when I wake-up and check my email I hold my breath in anticipation of a UCLA ding. Have pity on your ugrad alumni UCLA. Prease?

WTF.
Waitlisted.
170/3.6
I'm an LA native and this is my top school. I dont mean to sound entitled but this feels awful.
Is there any chance this is YP?
I'm 3/3 at Duke, Northwestern, and SC with 75k so I know it's not like there is a glaring flaw with my app.
I feel physically ill.

Send them a LOCI and say all this. This really could be YP. Hard to believe otherwise with those numbers.megagnarley wrote:WTF.

Even with a LOCI, is it likely I don't hear back for another few months either way?

With your numbers and ties, this does feel like YP. Send them an LOCI and chill. Eventually, they will see the lightmegagnarley wrote:WTF.

This certainly bleakens my outlook with a 3.57 and a 171 from out of state...

And you should be fine.
I seem to be an anomaly here.
Spoke with the dean and he was as nice as could be. Called me after hours to answer my questions. A true gentleman.
Best of luck to you all.

Don't really think its YP because they love their GPAs. If you're serious about it then ride it out. Also keep in mind that the other schools you have been accepted to are all objectively better (minus USC maybe, although that's debateable). Of course cost should be a part of the equation but 75k at USC is pretty good.megagnarley wrote:WTF.

Except for the fact that every single person with my numbers in the past few years has been admitted.BigZuck wrote:Don't really think its YP because they love their GPAs. Meaning my app is that good and it's YP or it's that bad and they didn't want me.
I will be cynical and say it's the latter, but only time will tell.
Being in at D and N at least give me some comfort that my app does not read like a mad lib.
ETA: Rereading that it sounds hostile. Though I was, in effect, agreeing with most everything you said. Let the record show there was no intended hostility.

Re: UCLA c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I sent a email yesterday, told them i was going to visit LA In late feb. They called me to set up a time/date. They mentioned schollies at other schools, i told them that money would weigh heavily in my decision on which law school i would attend. They told me they will sit down with me to seriously discuss the situation. Will the move up their scholarship from 48 to 100k?

I've heard that UCLA is one of the few schools that truly negotiates if they think you are serious. So, I think your chances of a getting a better offer are good.uconjak wrote:I sent a email yesterday, told them i was going to visit LA In late feb. They called me to set up a time/date.
